Bad customer service

"I have been purchasing wine from Wine.com since last July 2019. They have followed through until now . I order /purchased from them 2 bottles of Chateau Leoville Barton 2009 In early January and they sent me one bottle of the wrong wine , instead a bottle of Lazy Susan Ranch 2013. I called customer service a they informed me they would send me the correct wine and a return tag by e-mail. They did not follow though. Since I did not hear back from them I researched on RP the Lazy Susan Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 wine that they sent me by mistake and saw that it had good reviews and decide to open this wine. To my surprise it was CORKED! Reported this to them and they replied to me offering me a $20.00 dollar credit on my next purchase! Really disappointed, they do not back what the sell nor fix their mistakes and I will never give them my business again."

One of the worst online order experience ever!

"I was looking for a specific wine that I liked from wine.com because the website showed they had one in stock. I ordered 2 more bottles of wine because of the free shipping promotion. What was delivered were 2 extra bottles that I ordered for free shipping and not the one I wanted in the first place. No one contacted me about my order and they charged me for shipping. The worst part of all this was contacting their customer service via chat and phone. Person on the chat was obviously not understanding what I was trying to say, wasted an hour of my time and just left the chatroom. I called next day to speak to someone and she kept on interrupting me, talking over me. NEVER ORDER FROM WINE.COM Maybe you were able to get your wines okay, but if things go wrong, good luck getting quality service to resolve your problem."

STAY AWAY FROM THIS OUTFIT!

"Ordered $2,286.27 worth of wine. Got a notice that it had been delivered but it hadn’t. Tried to find the status of the order - which was difficult because it’s almost impossible to communicate with them - and when I finally was able to talk to a live person, she said she’d find out what happened & call me back. Well, that was 2 days ago & it’s impossible to get any answer and still no shipment. I just cancelled the charge on my credit card since I can’t get an answer from FedEx either. Obviously Wine.com doesn’t know how to run their business aside from charging their customers and then doing nothing. "

Customer Service is a joke!!

"I received a $100+ bottle that I wanted to exchange. Spoke to 6 (no joke) and no one could figure out how and the order number. I think they're in a remedial program and they're not paid. I can't figure it out otherwise. It's so bizarre, I am actually creeped out a little. Do not contact them for any reason. Just deal with it. This is your time to practice diplomacy!"

Great Deal Join the Wine Club and Get Free shipping

"i pay 10-12 dollars per bottle on average for 90+ rated wines (inclusive of sax but exclusive of shipping because I am in their wine club). the wine club costs 35 dollars per year and the shipping is free thereafter. awesome deal to have a case of wine delivered to your doorstep

Great selection; pricing not competitive.

"I have purchased a lot of wine from this site over the years and have not have the poor customer service noted by others in their reviews. I once received a bottle whose cork had failed and was given another bottle at no charge. Another time I ordered a case at a great price and the site said the price was a mistake and rejected my order - I read the fine print of their policies and indeed they retain the right to reject any order for any reason, although I thought they should have honored the advertised price mistake or not.

My main comment about the site is that its wine prices are not just not competitive -- they are consistently too high. There is much competition out there now for on-line wine (WTSO, Last Bottle Wines, Wine Access, many others) and consistently better prices sometimes substantially so can be found for the same bottle elsewhere. If you do buy from the site NEVER paid the listed price -- there is always a coupon or code to be found that will give you a discount of some kind. Search the web first for the discount code before buying. However, even with the discount the price is too high. Look elsewhere (through Wine Searcher) for other sellers. I will give kudos for the great selection offered.

WIne order as gift never received

"DO NOT BUY FROM wine.com. Read the other reviews. Apparently, they do not ship anything out and just collect the money. Total waste of mine time. I order wine as a gift and now its a 2 weeks pass due. Awful customer service."

" Complete scam I placed a large order and didn’t receive confirmantion email no one answered and of my multiple voicemails over 4 day span and none of my emails were answered . Only thing they did was take my money !!!! "

"I had an issue with a gift my brother had sent me. I contacted wine.com through the Chat function on their website. Their customer service representative immediately recognized the problem and corrected it. I am most impressed with how responsive they were. Well done Wine.com!"

Christmas gift delivered a week late and a bottle short.

"I placed an order for an assortment of wines on November 26 for delivery on December 21st.
During the intervening three and a half weeks I was deluged with emails inviting me to place further orders -- including offers for free 'rush shipping'. When the wine failed to arrive I logged onto the website and found that my order had been changed from six to five bottles and delivery had been rescheduled for December 27th. None of the many emails I received hinted that they were having trouble fulfilling the order, no one reached out to me to ask if I wanted to substitute another wine.

rip off

"Ordered 3 bottles 10/27/18. Confirmation lumps wine, tax, shipping into 1 price. However, 0n 10/31/18 they placed 3 distinct charges against card, making it time consuming to reconcile charges vs confirmation receipt. This confusion plays strongly to their advantage. 2 wk later noticed 1 of 3 bottles never received and no credit posted. For 3 weeks, I Emailed customer service and did online chat 4 separate dates to try to resolve, but no success. Called again yesterday and they hung up! Next call I made was to credit card company to dispute/reverse the $138 they had charged over a month ago for wine that I never received! "

Terrible company!!!!

"I ordered wine on Monday as a 60th birthday gift for a friend. The earliest they said it could be delivered was Saturday. On Friday night at 8pm they emailed me to let me know it was out of stock! They said to contact them to make a change. We had already left for vacation. What a mess! This is the third time wine.com has done this to me. "

HORRIBLE CUSOTMER SERVICE AND SHIPPING!!!!!

"Buyer beware. I tied ordering form Wine.com for the very first time. I placed my order on 11/10/18. First, the held my order for a few days and got a call form the distribution person. I called back three times over three days and he never called me back. I then called customer service and they were worthless. "We don't know what's going on. I called the distribution person and he'll call you back in 15 minutes". Needless to say I never got a call back. But, surprise surprise, they did ship my wine that afternoon. Their tracking system said I would get my 66 bottles of wine on 11/16/18. Of course, the packages didn't arrive. I now check as see that they are saying the packages should arrive on Monday 11/19/18. Nine days to ship wine, you've got to be kidding me. Is this being run out of someone's garage! I could have purchased these wines locally and had them eight days ago. The saving are worth the shipping hassles. If your thinking of using this service, I would seriously reconsider.

Very disappointed.

The worst service available

"When you get a gift you receive an email saying you have to sign for the purchase. It gives a delivery date and a phone number to call if you are not available. I have called fedex 3 times to reschedule and no one knew about the delivery and/or how to reschedule. Called wine.com and they couldn’t help. So now it has to get delivered back to wine.com and who knows if the giver will even get refund. Service ****. Don’t waste your money."
