"This is moreso a complaint regarding one of the booksellers on biblio.com because unlike other sites you can't leave feedback for the seller (or at least I haven't seen any option and informing customer service does little to help either). I am NEVER going to purchase from this site again, sad because I am sure there are some honest sellers, I just can't really tell and I've taken my chance and been fooled once.
The seller I purchased from is called TEXTBOOKS BUSINESS. I bought the book for $44.14 (not incld s/h) one evening. The very next morning I received an email stating their apologies but they would be unable to fulfill the order because they did not have the inventory and my money would not be deducted from my account. At the time, it showed 297 available. The email also apologized that since they were unable to afford the 'fancy' software programs, their quantities may be out of date. I still wonder how then do you list so many available. That very afternoon, I searched and found that the very same textbook that was unavaible was someone updated to sell for $74.14 (no change in avail quantities).
Biblio.com emailed me while in the middle of writing the seller an inquiring email that said the order processed and would ship soon. So I left it alone and was expecting to receive my book. Two weeks later, I logged on and my delivery date changed to an additional 2-3 weeks later. So I wrote to Textbooks Business. They replied promptly stating my monies were refunded. Funny, because it was to never be deducted from my account initially right? So I emailed them back stating no such refund took place and then emailed Biblio.com. They replied with the same answer, the money had been refunded. At this point, I really felt like I was going to be out of $50 and was very upset that Biblio.com didn't seem to have any answer to a bad seller.
I wrote Textbooks Business back again after going back and forth with Biblio.com (I was told after some additional digging, they did see that my account was never properly credited, so yes, at least I as lucky enough to get out with my money)but never heard back from them after asking for an explanation as to why they couldn't fulfill my order at $44.14. I really believe had Ipurchased it for $74.14 they would have gladly found a copy. FYI, Textbooks Business even today, 8/17/09 at 8:44 pm EST is still selling this textbook, now for $54.14 with 300 copies available. Yes, its increased by 3, if your keeping count!
So I repeat... BEWARE of the seller: TEXTBOOKS BUSINESS. I think it a joke that they actually write this in the description:
"New. Brand New. Why buy from an Overseas Seller?. Direct from Publisher. Premium Original International Edition. Quick Delivery, Great Customer Service & Awesome Quality guaranteed."
I would NEVER RECOMMEND the seller, TEXTBOOKS BUSINESS whether on Biblio.com or elsewhere. I wish you luck and a better outcome than I had if you do. "
"I have had pretty much the same story as most people here. The first time I used Biblio.com, it was fine. Today I ordered again through them, and can't even get an invoice from the vendors themselves. I also can't get anyone from Biblio.com to actually read my email, although I did get a canned response.
Just in case it helps someone else, this seems to be some valid contact information which I found on the Web:

"Biblio.com never sent me a confirmation, took my money from PayPal and never processed my order. When I realized my book hadn't come, I contacted them and even they had no idea what happened. Never again!"
"Biblio.com is the worst site. There is no customer service number to call and they never respond to emails. In other words, if you got stuck with a bad seller from biblio.com, as was my case, you can forget getting a refund. Absolutely, do NOT trust them. They were fine the first time, but after that took me for a sucker."
"Ordered the book "Two Hundred Years of American Blown Glass" and it arrived in about one and one-half weeks (media rate). Did not have any problems or concerns."
"I had ordered this book on the 13th. Today is Feb 3rd and I still have not received my book. I had emailed the seller several times. They told me to wait a few more days and check with the post office to see if theres a package waiting for me. Of course theres nothing and since then i've sent 2 more emails with no answer. I am still waiting for an email reply from Biblio. This is the worse service. Theres absolutely no phone number to call - i had trusted this site because it was dependable before. Now. i'lll NEVER use biblio ever again. Amazon is the best. I have used amazon for the past 4yrs for college books and never once got a problem. Biblio is the worse site to buy books, DO NOT TRUST THEM. "
"Biblio service is terrible. I have problems to receive my book even when I paid to get it priority. I received a tracking number that it never gave me information. I sent e-mails to both Biblio & the seller. No answer.
I finally got the book to late for me. I contacted again both of Biblio & the seller. Surprise, the seller answered right away telling me to return the book and there will be a 35% restocking fee, when the Biblio web site indicates 25% after a week of receiving it.
I sent another series of e-mails and probabily will never receive answer. I'll try my credit company to resolve the problem.
Biblio customer service is the worst I have received in my life. I would never recomend this site to my worst enemy.
This purchasing has been a nightmare. Biblio has never answered my e-mails. I received the book, but too late, on January 14th, a Saturday.
I tried to cancel the order several times, and there is not way to cancel orders in the Biblio site. There are instructions how to do it, but if you find the link, please let me know.
I wrote both Biblio and ****@**** to know where to return it. Amazingly, colleen answered me, sending me the address and telling me I'd be charged 35% for restocking! The Biblio website says 25% ONLY AFTER 7 days of received the merchandise.
I have disputed the charges and my credit company is handling it. I sent another e-mail to Biblio asking why I am being charged when I was returning the book within the 7 days. Of course they count in their favor Sunday and MLK's holiday. I also asked why the restocking fee was different. My e-mail was returned marked as undelivered!!!
Their customer service is a joke. They had never even acknowledged the problem. They just want the money and if someone returns merchandise, they will get money anyway!! They have found a very profitable business. Amazon is 2,000 times better!!
