"The order was placed on 5-27 and the card was processed for funds the same day. At this time the estimated delivery was 6-14 (18 days). We received an acknowledgement and status of "processing" the next day. On the 12th day an email advised there was a materials backorder and a new estimated delivery of 8-26 (91 days from order date). That's a huge change, and one I believe should have been known from the start. I'm retired now, but worked in sales for over 40 years. From the time we checked things by hand to the incorporation of computer technology and ERP programs. And yes, even automated sales such as this online one. These systems, Online Sales Entry and ERP programs, can work together to give instant and accurate delivery information. Unfortunately, they can also be defaulted to give a generic delivery time. As a customer, what are you more likely to accept and place an order, 18 days or 91 days? I do have to give credit where due, the blinds arrived in 64 days, rather than 91 and they are nice. But the misleading info just can't go unnoticed!"
