"I came in to buy a Shoei helmet, picked out one for my wife, I told the sales rep, Brandon, that it's a gift for her and I wanted to be able to return it for a full refund if she doesn't like it. He told me, "sure no problem." During check out, I asked for a gift receipt, he gave me 2 receipts and told me they don't do gift receipts. So, I told him, " I can still return it, right?" He reassured me again, "Sure no problem, just bring it back, and we'll take care of you." I left, it was late, normally they would have already been closed but, they had an event going on; so they stayed open. Next morning, my wife didn't like it, she had already purchased a Scorpion helmet online. So, I brought the Shoei helmet back. They told me, "No returns on helmets." I was mad, because Brandon had told me I could return it for a full refund, if my wife didn't like it. That guy who told me, was telling me that it looks worn and I removed the price tag. I told him, "Brandon gave it to me without a box and it was like that when I bought it." He insisted that he know I wore it and no refunds on used products. I told him, Dude my bike is in the shop down the street, it's been there for a month. I can prove it. I just bought it last night before you guys were about to close. The helmet doesn't even fit my head, I'm a XL. I bought it for my wife and she doesn't even get off work until 10 pm. People come in here and try on helmets all day long. That helmet I bought was on the shelf. He gave me the run-a-round. Eventually, he gave me my full refund because I wasn't going to leave without it.
If the store policy was "No Refunds on Helmet," why tell me otherwise? Shouldn't it be mandatory that every employee knew that that's the policy? Don't tell me lies just to get a sale, that's messed up? Sad thing is all my friends was discouraged about shopping there; when I told them that story. On the bright side, I did get my money back, but what if I wasn't an ass about it? Do you guys think it was fair that I was lied to? (Time to blog about this experience). The reason why I shop at Cycle Gear is because you're prices are fair and you guys are local. But, every since that experience me and my friends plan on taking our money else-where."
