"This company has been nothing but a pain to deal with. It has been 15 days since I ordered from them, and despite being told several times that it has been shipped, I have not received my order, nor have I been refunded.
Additionally, it is suspicious that everyone at the company seems to share a single email address.
DO NOT deal with this company, they are at best incompetent and at worst fraudulent."
"I wish I had read these reviews prior to ordering from edirectsoftware. It's 4/14/06 and I am STILL waiting for my Dreamweaver 8 order to arrive (I paid $25 for "express" delivery).
I may sue this company for fraud! Needless to say I will never again do business with them."
"I was disappointed that it took a month to find out a product was backordered and was given a refund. Now I have to reorder where they could have just waited till the backorder was filed. Not very good comunications."
"This was my fourth order from edirectsoftware.com. The first three all occurred, without incident, between June 2005 and December 2005. Prices were awesome, software was delivered on time, and I thought I had found a solid distributor.
On this most recent transaction (Mar 06), I purchased one copy of Windows XP Pro (SP1, CD only). Much like other people are reporting from their recent transactions, the cd came in a paper slip cover with a serial number on the back. Previous orders came shrink-wrapped with the dell prepackaged copies of XP (for distribution with new computers only).
This time, however, the serial number was invalid. A call to Microsoft indicated I did not have a valid number, and was instructed to call my vendor.
Since you cannot call edirectsoftware to speak to someone, I waited for the live chat to open up. A representative from edirectsoftware gave me a new serial number over the live chat. The new serial worked. I asked him to send me the new serial number, and I would send him back the casing with the invalid number. I was told that they could not do that.
For prices, you can't beat them. However, I might recommend only ordering retail boxes or original (not backup) copies from them.

"This company is a scam. I received Windows XP Professional 3 days after I ordered Windows XP Home Edition. The Envelope only contained a CD, no Manuals or COA. Also the envelope the CD came in was already open. I installed the Software...no problem. When I went to microsoft.com to get Windows update I was notified that my copy was not genuine Windows. I called the Microsoft Anti-Piracy hotline and had my Credit Card company dispute the charge (which went through Paypal). DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY !!!"
"I purchased flash 8 software and included express mail (xtra 25.00). It is now March 25th and nothing but promises to refund the 25.00 and the software is in the mail. I thought I used Paypal....but after contacting Paypal (they had no record of the transaction) they too are conducting an investigation. The company is an apparent hoax!"
"I orderded Visio 2003 Professional. They took $ from my account via PayPal. They delivered nothing. No confirmation email. I tried to contact via phone, live chat and email. No response at all. Phone says see the web site. Live chat always says unavailable even during published hours. No response from email even though published turn around is 48 hours. Act like they are out of business. Money went to ****@****. Not a good sign. "
"Ordered software from these bozos. They charged my card, but never sent an invoice or confirmation. They never reply to emails. They never answer the phone. They never are available to chat with the online chat tool. This site is a scam. They one thing they did was charge my card. Nothing more. "
"I purchased Windows XP Professional. I do not remember getting any type of transaction number. The automated emails do not have any specifics of the order, nor do they have a transaction number. I specifically paid the extra so I had a valid COA. (Certificate Of Authentication.) When the package arrived, it was a Dell disk with a COA that was obviously pulled off of another computer. I immediately contacted edirectsoftware.com via email and was told, “You will not have a problem with this software.
“ I opened the software package, installed the software. Went to register it, and it wouldn’t register. Invalid key. Tried calling the 1-***-***-**** number but all you get is a message. No real people on the other end. Contacted Cody in their live chat, but all he said to do was call Microsoft and they will issue me a new key. Reluctantly, I did what they said just in case this may be legit. Microsoft said the disk I received is valid only for a Dell, and that I should contact my credit card company and the Microsoft fraud center. I have since contacted edirectsoftware.com by email and they want a transaction number. I don’t have one, I did not receive an invoice. All I can send them is a scanned image of the Priority Mail label, which I did, but have not heard back from them. Tomorrow I call my credit card company and submit this as a fraudulent claim.
"
"The invoice# provided was a transaction ID that I got from paypal.
eDirectSoftware does not give one an order number.
They sent me an e-mail that the order shipped on Feb 02 and would arrive in 3 to 7 business days.
I contacted them twice to report non receipt of the order and each time they told me to wait a few more days and then they would expidite a reshipment. The third time I contacted them, (Feb 16) I cancelled the order. They immediately emailed back to confirm the cancellation and that their investigation revealed that the shipment was lost in the mail. PayPay soon after issued the credit. I concluded that they take orders for items that they don't have and hope to stall the customer long enough to possibly procure the item for shipment. There MS software prices are to good to be true. I would never consider using them again, and I will google BEFORE I order on-line.
"
"My order was never received. Contacted eDirect and they said they would ship another at no charge since the first was "lost in shipment". They never shipped the second one (either). They did credit my credit card, but after they claimed to ship the second time. They never contacted me to say it did not ship, my card had been credited, they did not have the product, or anything else. Obviously they lied to me and I will NEVER use them again. Beware if you purchase from them."
"I am really disappointed with the service and Customer Service of eDirectSoftware. On 1/31 I ordered MS Office 2003 Professional to use in my telecommunications consulting business. In an on-line chat with a representative, I told him I needed to place an order for overnight delivery. He said no problem, just place a message in the box on the order form and it would be handled. I did so and said I was willing to pay the extra shipping charges. After I ordered, I received a confirmation via PayPal (on 1/31) and also a confirmation from eDirectSoftware saying my order would be shipped on 2/1. eDirectSoftware's confirmation also said I'd receive the software in 3 - 7 business days. I sent an email to them explaining that I wanted overnight delivery. They replied saying I'd receive the software in 2 -3 days. Day 4 through 8 has come and gone and no software. In contacting them with on-line chat I was informed it takes 3 - 7 business days to get the software. This was by the same guy who had sent me the email saying I'd receive my software in 2 -3 days. I sent them an email on 2/7 asking them to track my order. Their website says they'll reply in 2-3 hours. Guess what? 24 hours and no reply to my email. So, the moral of this story is, don't believe in their customer service being #1, and second, if you need the software quickly, go through a reputable dealer that has a shipping form where you can specify they type of shipping you really need. (eDirectSoftware did not.) Unfortunately, they have slowed my production greatly by having to use various MS Office Viewers, Wordpad and such to get my work done. I will not use their services again. Pay someone else and extra $25 or $50 dollars for the software, because it will be well worth it in the long run.
Well, as a follow-up, I finally received the software via FedEx on 2/28. This, after they said they sent it the third time. Strange though, they sent me the correct software, but it was an Enterprise Edition. In any case, I feel the company is not professional in it's approach to their handling of the software or the way they treat their customers. I would recommend you purchase your software from someone else. Also, I don't know why PayPal keeps handling business wiht them. Guess money is more important to PayPal than customer service."
"After I purchased software from this company I decided to visit resellerratings.com and my heart sank after reading all of the negative reviews. So I wanted to add my experience, which couldn't be much better than it was. I ordered software (lowest price I could find anywhere, by far) on Jan 12, received conformation later that day, recieved shipment notification the next day (Jan 13), and rec'd the product in the mail Jan 21) The product was as ordered and works exactly as expected. It's possible that this company has changed hands recently (and the poor past reviews are a thing of the past), but for whatever reason, my transaction was great. Would do business with this company again."
"I ordered from eDirectSoftware and have not received a confirmation, product or refund; my paypal account was debited. I cannot reach them by phone - only by email and I am not satisfied and my situation is not resolved"
"I had no problems, product shipped as promised and even got a follow up email by company for satisfaction"
