"Excellent price, service, website. Ordered 19 inch monitor Friday and received Monday! I will use them again."
"You see etech's response to my comment? This is same comment I received on the phone and in emails almost three weeks ago. Buyer beware!
Item ordered on June 21st. Cancelled on July 3rd for non-delivery. Have pursued a credit for the purchase price to be applied to my credit card without success. This has been turned over to my credit card charge dispute division. Customer service is terrible, usually busy signals, and now my e-mails are not answered. Please beware of this business."
"I build PCs for me and people who hear about me word of mouth. I build $3000 store bought machines for $1000 via vendors like eTechWarehouse.
I have placed four orders on: 6/21/2003, 6/28/2003, 7/4/2003 and the latest 7/17/2003. I expect to see the product arrive Monday the 20th or the 21st at the latest. I was surprised when the first package arrived so soon and surprised everytime each package arrived in such a sort time from the date and time of the order. I found this vendor on PriceWatch and they have honored the quoted price listed on PriceWatch each time I purchased from them. My hat off to eTechWarehouse."
"**** NEW ORDER****
Well I gave them another chance. I ordered a LCD monitor on 8/16/03. The same day they sent me an email stating they were having trouble verifying my billing address and needed me to contact them with information. I replied to the email immediately with my bank's ph. # so they could call and verify. Today I still hadn't received any word on my shipment so I called them. After numerous busy signals I finally got through only to wait on hold for nearly 15 minutes. When I got ahold of an agent and explain the situation he asked for my bank's number. I gave it and he said he would call the bank and then send my order. I asked that they ship it 2nd day air or better. He said he didn't have the authority to do that and transferred me to another dept. which I was promptly cut off from. I had to call again and same as before (busy, 15 to 20 minute hold). I finally got to talk to a supervisor who said he couldn't authorize sending out anything but ground since it was a heavy item. He said he will ship it tomorrow and it will come from the TX warehouse which will take 2 to 3 days. I explained that if he shipped it 2nd day it would be guaranteed to arrive as ground would be 2 or 3 days. I don't want to have to explain to one of my biggest customers why he has to wait for his system. I will not do business with this company again nor do I recommend anyone else do business with them. The supervisor I spoke with told me himself that they are having trouble keeping caught up with all the emails and phone calls from dissatisfied customers.
I have purchased several times from ETW and have always had good service. However, this time when I checked the order status on their site today (7/15/03) it still shows processing. The item I ordered was a KDS XF-7G monitor. A phone call to their 800# was answered promptly and the rep I spoke with asked if I got the backorder email that was sent to me. I told him I did not and asked when it was sent. He said it was sent the same day as the invoice email (7/9). He then doublechecked my email address. They had it wrong. Then he said that he mistakenly looked at a different person's order and that they do have my correct email address but I was NOT sent a backorder email. He put me on hold so I could be transferred to a supervisor. While on hold I did a quick check of my bank account and found that they charged my card on 7/11 even though the item was on backorder. When I got through to a supervisor (about 3 minutes on hold) I explained the situation and told her that my account had already been charged. She did say that was unusual but that the monitor I ordered was out of stock and nothing could be done about it. I asked if she could send me an XF-9E (19") at the same cost. They do not carry that model. They do have an XF-7T that they could ship. This monitor is also a 17" but of a lower quality. It has a dot pitch of .22 and the 7G has a dot pitch of .20. Strangely enough they charge the same price for both monitors. After some more time on the phone to see if they could guarantee that I would receive the monitor no later than Friday July 18th she finally said that it would be shipped out tomorrow, July 16th from their Texas warehouse via UPS or Fedex ground. This should get the monitor to me by Friday as I am in Kansas. I will post an update to let you know how things went. I will say that their customer service people are polite and do their best to help. I would have much preferred the correct monitor and a 100% guarantee that the monitor would ship tomorrow and be here Friday. I will be sending an email to them to see what type of 'compensation' they offer for this big screw up. If everything goes right I will not have a problem continuing to purchase from ETW.
UPDATE: I received my monitor today July 18th as promised. I also received an email from ETW on the 17th with a tracking number and apology plus I was compensated for my trouble. I'll refrain from mentioning the details of the compensation but it was sufficient and I will continue to shop with ETW in the future and recommend them to others as well.

"Ordered a printer ("there are 50 in stock") June 30, and it still has not shipped in two weeks. The credit card charge was posted on July 2nd. So I am cancelling order, and based on what I read here I will have to take this up with my credit card company.
29 July 03 Update. Was told on 17 July that a credit to my credit card was initiated and that it usually took 5-7 business days. My credit card payment is coming due so I have disputed the charge in order to make the payment without the e-Tech charge. I do not understand why the credit card charge could be posted in one day and it is two weeks and running to get the charge credited back. Perhaps they are living off credit card float..."
"I cannot recommend doing business with this company. I was lured by their low prices to place an order 6/5. My credit card was charged immediately. On 6/24 the item had still not shipped and I cancelled the order. I received an email stating: "If your card was charged, a credit will be issued within 5-7 business days from your cancellation date." Seven business days would be 7/3. As of today, 7/12, I do not have a credit. Calls to their billing department usually result in a busy signal. When I did actually get through on Wednesday, a girl told me they are behind on credits. I managed to get through Friday night, only to be told that my credit was forwarded to finance and it should not be much longer. Nobody could answer why or when, just "Sorry, we are clueless." After this I called my credit card company to start an investigation. They seemed to be familiar with the company and told me they would take care of it. I handle purchasing for my company, buying several thousand dollars of product a month. Most of my online experiences have been pleasant, but occasionally a situation like this pops up. I have learned not to depend on a company until they have proven themselves. The equipment ordered through Etech was nothing I needed right away and I was able to arrange the purchase through another company. I would be very upset if I had to tell the customer that I had no idea when the parts would arrive. My company cannot do business that way, nor can we purchase this way.
edit 7/14: According to their website, a credit will not be issued until 7/24. To me this is a little longer than five to seven days. I wish I had checked out this company before ordering. It's my fault for not knowing better. I am sending them an email right away as per instructed. My last email went unanswered. Buyer Beware! If you are still not convinced try epinions.com or BBB. I do not think this company will be around much longer.
edit 7/16: My email to them bounced. Got the message "User mailbox exceeds allowed size." It looks like I am not the only one resorting to email after getting nowhere on the phone. I haven't called yet this week, I think I will now.
edit 7/17: I called Wednesday, but no one was available to take my call. I was unable to leave a callback number as the voicemail was full. I see I have sent 4 emails this week and have yet to get a reply. I am confident my credit card company can resolve this. They move a little slow, but they do get results.
edit 7/18 Today I received a reply to my emails. I will paste it below:
"We apologize for the delay in your credit. We have had some difficulties with our merchant processor, in which credits have not been posted that have been sent over. This is causing a back log in credits. Our accounting department is doing everything they can to speed this process up. It is possible that you will receive this credit before the 24th, we just didn't want to give you a date that we could not reach."
edit 7/23: I received a refund today, just one day short of a month. The End."
"7/15/03 Still no contact, I sent an email and asked to have the order cancelled and my credit card credited. KEEP CLEAR OF ETECHWAREHOUSE!
I ordered a sound card 6/26/03 my credit card was charged but still no shipment to date 7/09/03. I called and was told the same story I've read in the other comments "The Order was sent to a warehouse that was out of stock and will be reordered today and shipped within 48 hrs." Seems like a non-stocking resell operation dependent on their stocking venders response time. I'll be looking here in the future before ordering, the rating speaks for itself."
"After 4 different ship dates, a half a month, and getting ready to whip some ass my product has a tracking number. I will never use this company again. I ordered the logitech 680 5.1 speaker set after building my own pc the week before. Needless to say I have had to use headphones. I was honestly ready to spend 500 on a plane ticket to get my 270 back. My shipping was credited 15 bucks and supposedly I am getting what I ordered but we will see. They would have to offer this to me for free to see my account active again. steer clear. i will follow up upon arrival."
"Ordered a Sony Artisan GDM-520K Monitor ($1,600) on 6/25/03 from vendor. Credit card was charged on 6/27/03 without item being shipped. Contacted vendor several times regarding status of order but always at least a 15 minute on-hold phone call before reaching a "customer service" person. Sent at least 3 e-mail messages to customer service/accounting with absolutely no response.
Was promised several times order would ship "that day". Finally promised shipment on 7/3/03 and assured it would arrive on 7/7/03. Called on 7/7/03 and still no activity on order and no information on order status. Cancelled order and had to fight for same-day credit on account.
Horrible, horrible service -- please don't let go unpunished!
Previously order a $2,000 laser printer with reasonable service from this company, but will never order again."
"Delivery time was very good. eTech kept me of receipt of order and shipping ststus. Will buy from in the future."
"My credit card was billed the day after placing the order. As of 3 weeks later, the Iitem (a flash memory card) had not been shipped and customer service could not give me a ship date. I cancelled the order, but as of today, a month and a half after placing the order, I have not gotten a refund."
"The service from eTechWarehouse was excellent. I sincerely appreciate the checking of the mailing address against the credit card address. This enabled me to correct the information with the credit card. The difference could have created a greater problem in the future.
The only problem that was encountered was with Fed-Ex. The delivery was not made on the first attempt due to the Fed-Ex driver. Appears that he/she did not make much attempt to locate the address. You may want to consider UPS instead. I have not heard as many complaints as I have about Fed-Ex.
Sincerely,
Marvin E. Weant"
"Wow! Should have gotten a clue the first time!
May 22, I ordered a Radeon 9700 pro. The website said "waiting for customer verification" for 2 weeks. When I called I discovered that they were discontinuing the item and weren't restocking it. So they promptly cancelled my order...after I called. No e-mail, nothing.
June 20th, having decided that anyone can make a mistake, I ordered a new Antec case, which was listed as "in stock" on the website. My credit card was charged on Monday the 23rd. On Wednesday afternoon (3 full business days later) the status changed to "Order Released to Warehouse". Friday afternoon (today, 5 full business days later) NO CHANGE. So I called. The Customer Service Rep (forget her name) said "Oh it looks like the warehouse that the order was sent to is out of stock on the item!!!! So she transferred me to the customer care dept. where I talked to Rudolph. After giving me a lame excuse that they had "problems" with their processing system, and not that the case wasn't in stock (now we're up to lying), he tells me that the case will ship by Monday, latest Tuesday (July 1st, that's 7 business days!!!!!!!). The website says "Orders ship in 1-2 days, normally. If we're busy, allow an extra 24 hrs" (not a direct quote but that's the gist of it). So I asked Rudolph to take off my shipping charge, since it's going to be shipping so late. He puts me on hold for a few minutes, and then tells me that there's nothing that can be done. I ask to speak to a supervisor....there isn't one there!! So where did he go???? So I cancelled the order and had my credit card re-credited. I've re-ordered it from Newegg.com and it'll be here by Wednesday or Thursday. How do I know that? Because Newegg.com has NEVER shown this level of poor customer service, and when they say that the item will ship in 24 hrs, IT WILL!
Hope that no one else has to go through this fiasco. My recommendation.......stay as far away as possible and avoid this company. The customer service is ok, but only after the fact, and their bsuiness transaction handling procedures are horrible.
Richard"
"not satisfied yet. Very slow to ship.
a) on June 17 I ordered 2 "in stock" items at noon. Their terms state that shipping will happen in 1 to 2 days.
b) credit card was charged quickly.
c) on June 20th, the on-line status was (still) "processing", so I called and their phone support said it would ship that day and I would receive it on the 23rd.
d) on the 23rd they replied to my earlier email and said it would SHIP "momentarily"
e) on the 25th it still had not shipped, so I called and asked for their definition of "momentarily". The on-line status later turns to "released to warehouse"! (I guess that is a step in the right direction?)
f) Now on the 26th I hope it ships. And I hope to receive my order by the 27th, or 30th at the latest?????
e) A two week turn around is terrible !!!!! Consider buying locally or order elsewhere if you are in a hurry.
In their replies to earlier reviewers, they offered to "compensate/restitute", but on the phone they turned down my request to upgrade my shipping to overnight for free to "compensate" for their 1.5week (or more?) delay in shipping the order.
on the plus side.... when I called their 1-800 number I got thru every time and talked to relatively friendly personnel, but they obviously don't have any clout with the warehouse. They also took around 1.5 days to reply to emails.
I will update my review when (if?) I receive my order and let you know if I am satisfied then.
UPDATE: rec'd order on Friday the 27th (11 days since ordering). Both items correct and packed well. Still... in my opinion ~9 calender days just to release it for shipping is not good.....
Would I order again from etechwarehouse??? Probably only if their price was lowest and their reviews/ratings improve."
"I ordered a KVM switch on Thursday that I needed fairly quickly. Since I ordered it early Thursday morning, I expected it to be shipped at least by the end of Friday. I ordered 6 other parts from 6 other places and every other one was shipped on Thursday. I called Friday to check on my order. The "check the status of my order" menu item on their answering service doesn't work, and when I chose other, I waited 1/2 hour before hanging up. It was telling me that they had an unexpectedly high volume of orders. I then called Monday (today) and had the same problems. I then sent them an e-mail to cancel my order, but I'm afraid that won't work. I'm going to call my credit card company today to dispute the charges because I'm sure they won't cancel the order. I can only hope I'm able to get around the charges.
By the way, in order to address eTech's response to Mr. Hinson, I got 2nd-Day Air delivery.
UPDATE: While I can't say that my credit card is credited, I can say that my order was cancelled less than an hour after I sent an e-mail to them. That does show some level of customer service and I do appreciate that.
UPDATE 2: Well, 2 months later, my refund did finally post. I honestly had forgotten about it, so I'm glad I got my money back at all. I didn't see their response, so I don't know what kind of restitution they were going to offer me, but I have no desire to order anything further from this company."
