"I saw a lot of reviews about issues but I just got a $10 Free eBay card with a $100 purchase from a promo. I think the issue is when you pay with PayPal. I used a CC. Ironically they give more points if you pay with Paypal lol"
"wow - these guys are conniving bstrds ... I just bought the deal $100 ebay .. used my barclay MC arrival ...
they spit out a msg that its decined .. logged on to barclay card .. not an issue .. 100 pending charge approved!
called up barclay ... said that they approved the charge but merchant the pending charge has 3-5 days to not to finalize the deal ...
they show visa mc .. but then wont allow you to charge it and WAIST YOUR TIME!!!!! with many tricks up their sleeve STAY AWAY!"
"Totally useless service. Orders with paypal cancelled without reason or notice, despite having a US-based account. The same recurrent issue that many other users have complained about following a "manual review.""
"This site a fake & scam they scammed me for just low balance lol and bad system their bugs etc
when i opended my wallet there nothing found "
"Bad experience. I received the dreaded email, about my Paypal account being ineligible, a manual review, blah, blah, blah. That's funny because I have been using Paypal for something like 15 years. By the time they got back to me, the Amazon item I wanted was sold out. Don't waste your time or sanity."
"Great service! Just used it for the first time and I don't know what the complaints I read are about. It was super easy - no problems whatsoever!!! I got an Amazon card and was able to use it instantly. The only thing that would be better would be if you could buy multiple gift cards at once. I would definitely use them again."
"If there were below zero this is what I would give this company. FAIR WARNING DONT DO IT TO YOURSELF UNLESS YOU LIKE HEADACHES. I purchased or more like tried to send a Amazon egift card. They send me an email that order was canceled said pending payment will erase from my account in a few days. Few days later I WAS CHARGED!! Then I called they magically couldn't find my order and asked me to send a screen shot of my bank account showing I was charged. Did that they refund through PayPal and now Paypal says refund complete but it wasn't completed. Now I have to work with Paypal because egifter can careless aslong as it said refunded complete on their end. Next step is then calling my bank. They'll take your money real fast but now I have to wait up to 30 days to find out if it was refunded."
"I'm surprised how terrible this experience was. Their advertisement is completely dishonest (implying that you can purchase a "last minute" Christmas gift but informing customers that their purchase can take up to 48 hours to process). Ironically purchasing an electronic gift card directly from Best Buy would have provided the recipient to access it instantly. Moreover, they canceled my purchase made with my Visa card and sent me the following "A manual review was unable to confirm the validity of your payment..." "... it may take several days to remove the pending transaction from your statement".
It was the worst eCommerce experience I've ever had.
Before I give egifter.com a one star rating, I want to apologize to all the horrible eCommerce sites that have also been given one star (nobody deserves to be put in the same class as egifter no matter how terrible they are). "
"I am giving this website a one star rating, only because there is no option to give it a zero rating. I wanted to purchase an Amazon gift card so that I would be able to purchase some Christmas gifts for my family. After waiting over 24 hours for my confirmation, I received an email saying that I was ineligible to use egifter because a manual review of my payment could not be verified. I called paypal and was told that there was no problems with my account, and they could not find any reason for the payment to be denied. I thought I would try contacting regifter to sort the problem out. They do not answer the phones, but ask you to leave a message for them to contact you back. I never received a response. I also emailed them with no response. So, I thought I would try my purchase again. The same thing happened. It seems as though they just want your Facebook info and they never actually intend to fulfill any orders. "
"I made a purchase for an Xbox gift card, I never got it, I held on waiting until I checked my PayPal and it says money have been refunded, I needed it urgently and now I have to wait for days for my refund. I didn't request any refund I made a purchase to get the item not to waste my time, I got no notice from them nor any email of any kind I tried to contact them but I got no response, personally I advise everyone to stay away from this company, if it was really, they will only waste your time for nothing. And now the offer for which I was getting the code for has expired thanks to their awful service."
"I lost $23 in bitcoin because of eGifter. The final price is never clear and when I sent my bitcoin to them (the exact amount they told me to), they sent me a letter saying it was a different price (by mere 1/100ths of a cent), even though I sent the exact amount including wallet fees. After contacting customer service several times, I never got a response. I do not recommend this shady website for business."
"I received a promotional email for $15 of $100 in gift card purchases so I placed an order with them. Since it was my first order with them, they needed me to upload a picture of my ID along with the credit card. I did that.
Two days later, I receive an email that my order was canceled due to some credit card issues. I replied to the email for more description regarding the issue and they said that's all they can provide to me through email and that I needed to call them for more information at this number: ***-***-**** and press #2 for customer service.
This is where it drives me nuts, It's been almost 2 weeks and every single time I call, it goes to voicemail. I've left voicemails and I don't get callbacks! I replied to the email 3 days later, letting the representative know that I've been trying to reach him and also gave him my phone number. End result? No callbacks, no email response.
Try that phone number yourself first before dealing with this company and see if you get ANY customer service. Zero."
"I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about, I just got an offer for a free $10 off $50 gift card from them and bought a $50 home depot card for $40. I had to connect my Facebook, but I revoked posting privileges with no problem. Will order from again if they have another promotion. Other than promotions, they are full priced gift cards for the most part."
"Web sites like this are a scam to get yours and your friends Facebook info. I tried signing up for a promo with my Facebook account and got this message "It appears your Facebook account is not eligible for this promotion. If you believe this determination has been made in error, please fill out our Facebook Account Verification Form and we will manually review your request." But they still got my Facebook account info and my friends. One of my friends tried to send another friend a free gift card and got this nasty message "Dear Xxxxx,
This message has been sent to notify you that Xxxxx xxx is not eligible to receive free eGift Cards. As per our Terms of Service, we only allow one Facebook account per customer. We have algorithms that are designed to detect invalid, inactive or suspect Facebook accounts and these accounts are not eligible to receive free or discounted eGift Cards. Many factors go into determining if an account is eligible, such as the number of friends and many other factors that are common in suspect accounts. If when the recipient logs in to retrieve their gift and we determine that they are ineligible, they are told they are not eligible and will be denied access to the gift. Each time you attempt to send cards to ineligible accounts we mark your account with this activity and you become eligible for less free cards.
If you continue engaging in activity that appears to violate our Terms of Service you will not be eligible to give or receive any free cards from your account. If you repeatedly attempt to give free cards to accounts that are not eligible, our system assumes you are just sending these to Facebook accounts set up for the purpose of taking more than your fair share of free eGift Cards. If you believe this decision was made in error, please contact our customer support team to request a manual account review to confirm that your account is valid and eligible.""
