"Tried to use it for legit medical services abroad, in a cheap country, so that my refund would be less than the cost of insurance, and they refuse to pay on the excuse that the itemization for services provided is not standardized. An insurance that promises to work anywhere should know that multiple administrations abroad will have different standards in reporting expenses. But this is a very convenient excuse not to pay my refund. So, another insurance that only walks with your money. Will never use again."

"I experienced a UTI while in Australia and had a virtual call with a GeoBlue physician who was not able to prescribe antibiotics given the rule/law in Australia. Physicians that are not in Australia cannot prescribe medication. In this instance the GeoBlue insurance was ineffective. I ended up going to the ER for my UTI as there was no other option to obtain treatment. I was not able to use my insurance because the hospital did not take insurance that was not the government issued Medicare. Unfortunately I had to pay for my healthcare costs out of pocket."

"Both my husband and I had claims. Mine worked out fine, however I had to appeal his. Basically because of the rate exchange and conversion. Bills can be submitted in two different currencies and the wrong currency was used, for conversion, when we submitted the initial claim. After the appeal was sent with an explanation of the currency used, we did get reimbursed.

I have been buying Geoblue travel medical insurance for about two decades. Fortunately never had to actually use it until a recent trip. Filing claims both personally and by the hospital was easy. Payment and reimbursement were quick and without any sort of hassles.
My accident was urgent so I didn't look for doctors in the Geoblue network. I just went straight to the ER at the nearest hospital which accepted my Geoblue with some hesitation because they are not familiar with it. However at the end I got taken care of and everybody got paid. An excellent outcome under the circumstances."
