"I was originally hesitant about ordering from these guys (typical nervousness about ordering from a Brooklyn, NY electronics merchant) but called them up and placed my order for an LCD TV at a great price.

They did try to sell me a warranty but were ok with shipping me the TV after I declined the warranty. They even contacted me the same day as my credit card company wouldn't originally authorize the transaction.

Item shipped out same day I ordered and I had it delivered to my door in just 3 days. One note of caution, they do require signature on deliveries, someone MUST be there to sign for the package, even if you have a waiver on file with Fedex/UPS.

All in all a very satisfying experience, got a top of the line product at an unbelievable price.

"I purchased a Sharp LC-32GD4U from this retailer. when I received the LCD I had a burnt Pixel in the center. I called IBUYPLASMA right away and ask to return the TV and they would not replace the unit with another one.

I tried in everyway possible to work with them but no luck. I finally had to stop payment on my Visa card. I have since gone out and bought the same TV with no burnt pixel.

I would never buy another item from this company.

BTW, It is now January 2005 and they still haven't taken back the defective TV and it's still in dispute with Visa.

"One of the most disappointing online purchasing experiences I have ever had. The woman who took my order was very accomodating and said the 50" plasma TV I was ordering was in stock and would ship within the next few days. This was critical as I was moving and needed to coordinate shipping times.

When I attempted to follow up, I experienced 15 minute plus hold times and general non-responsiveness, excuse making, outright lies and some of the poorest customer service I have ever experienced. If you are interested - here is the log of what happened:

11-22-04 – Ordered TV with Linda. Explained that I had to have delivery by Friday, December 3rd because we were moving on the 4th, at our new house on Monday the 6th and then on vacation for 2 weeks. I was very clear that if they couldn’t do this, please tell me because I will order the TV elsewhere or wait until I got back. Linda said “no problem the TV is in stock and will ship by 11-23.

11-24-04 – Called Linda and left voice mail since I had not recieved a tracking number or any indication the TV had shipped. She did not call back. I had to call back several times. 5 hours after she got into work and finally got her “live”. She said, “sorry – you should have sent me an email”. (when I ordered the TV she said if there were any questions to call – she didn’t mention the email thing…). She said the TV would ship Friday and they would change the shipping to 3 – 5 day service.

11-24-04 – When I couldn’t reach Linda, I tried calling the order tracking department. I got some woman after a 15 minute wait on hold that was very abrupt and said that “Linda should have never promised Wednesday delivery”… Well how was I supposed to know this and why was this my fault? Supposedly somebody was supposed to get back to me with a delivery date, but that never happened…

11-27-04– I emailed Linda asking what happened to the tracking number as I never got it Friday. This was her reply:

Hi Jack,

Your tracking number with www.Manna.com is not yet entered into or system it will be in tomorrow after noon I'll email you then.

11-29-04 – I waited on hold for another 15 minutes or more to finally get through to the tracking department. Someone was going to look into it and get back to me. Apparently the TV didn’t ship out on Friday like Linda said it would…. Several more phone calls when nobody would get back to me – more time on hold – finally I got through to Peter. Peter told me that the TV would go out that day with faster service so that I would receive it by the following Friday.

11-30-04 -- ….still no tracking number….

12-1-04 – Manna calls – apparently they did not pick up the TV until Tuesday unlike what I was told by Peter…. I talked to Peter again and wrote an email confirming what he told me. Peter was basically dishonest about what he was going to do, never followed through and basically had an attitude that I was lucky to have been doing business with them...

12-2-04 – Manna calls and says they are delivering on Tuesday. I write more notes – more time on hold – told by Linda that Peter was working on it and they would deliver Monday (he was not, and it did not happen).

…..and on and on and on. Let me help you with the math – about 1.5 hours on hold – over a dozen phone calls to follow up. …. I guess it was my fault that Linda was about a week off with her shipping commitment... I guess I was not clear about my circumstance up front even though I confirmed this both verbally and in email... Peter ultimately blamed things on the shipper, but the shipper was not responsible for a week delay on the shippers end... I was specifically given a ship date of Tuesday, 11-23 – but it actually shipped a week later – that is not their fault.

12-6-04 - Peter committed to crediting back $100 to me for overpayment on shipping. I had paid more for faster shipping, but the delay made this a moot point. I had to hire somebody to accept the TV while we were on vacation. Peter agreed in writing (email) that this credit would happen within the next few days.

12-22 - Still no credit. Spoke with Joe who said that the credit would happen "in the next 48 hours".

1-4-05 - Still no credit... Spoke with credit card company who will now need to intervene...

....and there you have it... The story is much longer and more frustrating then the above indicates, but I'm over it. I am hopeful that a few folks will read about this experience and avoid this company.
