"When my battery was becoming to unreliable for normal use with my iPhone 4s, I started looking around for a replacement. I ran across a nice looking video on Youtube about how easy it was to replace it. At that point I figured I would do the replacement myself.
After looking at reviews for batteries on Amazon, I quickly became skeptical about buying ANY battery online. After wasting hours of looking I figured Id go with the one that seemed least shady. There were some reviews about batteries from iFixit having some cycles on them.
When my battery arrived from iFixit I did the battery swap (as easy as they say) and plugged it in to see how many cycles were on the battery. 0 cycles.

"I ordered three screwdrivers to replace my 4s screen and each tool stripped the screws and now I'm unable to replace my screen. The tips are soft and lose their form so they are unable to be used. Do not buy any tools from ifixit. They are complete crap. The guides are fine, the tools are the biggest pieces of garbage I've ever used. Save your money and buy a Jewelers kit. "
"bought a "liberation" kit (philips screws to replace the star proprietary apple screws) and (more importantly) the driver for the star screws. I went through 2 other sets of star screwdrivers that didn't fit / were very low quality. Happy to say, the kit was exactly as advertised and the star driver actually worked.
Shipping was very fast and the parts actually are good, high quality. In a world with so many chinese knock-offs that never work and it's so hard to figure out who to buy from, these guys aren't cheap - but it's what you need to fix the stupid
Wonderful company, recommend highly. "
"I got a great set of tools, that were high quality and well worth the price. This is not cheap knock off stuff, I got a set of high quality screwdrivers and spudgers.
Plus the customer service from this company (I had to contact them due to my own mistake) is very fast and courteous. Items arrived as promised, very quickly! "
"The website is great on showing you how to replace almost anything in an iOS device and other devices. Their prices on parts are competitive and their shipping is fast. If you happen to live near Orange County, CA then shipping is very fast. The part I ordered worked great and I have no complaints. Thanks guys!"
"From ifixit.com I purchased a replacement battery for my iPhone 3GS. I watched a bunch of videos on YouTube about how to replace it. Each video told me something that the others didn't. This type of repair work is fun and easy for me but I know it would be difficult for others. This iPhone is now my 17 year old daughter's iPhone. She watched as I took it apart and replaced the battery. It took about 45 minutes. Seems to be great. I trust ifixit.com and don't trust anyone else. It sounds like I own ifixit or they somehow want me to say this but I am just a software engineer who likes to tinker. Look at the reviews from other battery sellers. Other companies have tons of people who are angry. Ifixit seems to have quality parts. "
"I bought a replacement 3GS battery from ifixit.com. The battery with the promised tools arrived very quickly. I printed the instructions from the ifixit website, which seemd quite complete with the accompanying pictures. The instructions repeatedly warned which parts to be very careful removing. Of the 7 connectors which must be removed, only one has a tiny plastic retainer which must first be flipped up. The instructions mention this, but do not say which way the retainer flips up (towards or away from the ribbon connector). Even under magnification, I couldn't tell which way it rotated. Naturally I chose the wrong way and broke the quite delicate retainer. I proceeded with all other steps to replace the battery and reassemble the iPhone. Unfortunately, I now have non-functioning screen on my iPhone and will be shopping for a new phone. Expensive lesson.
Some of the connectors are quite difficult to remove and some are quite difficult to reconnect. All the steps are do-able, but be warned that taken together, this process is not for the faint of heart (or unsteady of hand). You are risking your iPhone, so only do it if you are ready to break it.
I appreciate ifixit for providing replacement batteries and decent (but could be a tad better) instructions. The choice by Apple to make the limited-life battery very very difficult for consumers to replace is plain poor design. But that's a different post, I guess."
"With the hype about Apple's use of pentalobe screws across its laptop line, I was under the impression that I needed to purchase a pentalobe screwdriver in order to remove the unibody panel from my 2012 non-retina MBP. To confirm this, I sent an inquiry to iFixit's support. They responded quickly with a confirmation that I indeed needed one (I never bothered to actually flip the laptop over to examine the screwhead). I placed an ordered, received it very quickly, and it was well packaged. Upon attempting to use the screwdriver, I discovered that Apple did not use pentalobe style screws on the 2012 non-retina MBP line.
This was unfortunate because I was out $15 for a tool that wasn't needed. I sent an email to their support once again explaining as I have here, and I receive another quick reply with an apology and an offer for either the correct tool (philips screwdriver) or a full refund. I do understand that with the new MBP line, iFixit may have not had the correct information to supply to customers, and it was also my fault for not confirming the screw type myself.
This was great customer service. I recommend shopping with iFixit."
"A validation issue with my european credid card led me to re-order a part ordered at ifixit at another online store. Despite the fact that iFixit had already shipped the part, they called it back from shipment themselves and refunded my credit card.
That's what I call customer service!"
"I ordered an iPhone 4S battery from ifixit.com since the one I ordered from amazon (a 3rd party retailer) did not work. The battery level always said 100% so I returned the item and purchased one from ifixit.com. The item came much faster then expected using the cheapest shipping. The item came in perfect condition and fit like a glove. It appeared to be an exact OEM replacement and works VERY good. I let the battery die completely and did a full recharge with the stock wall charger and the battery lasts really long. Big improvement. I will definitely use ifixit.com again for future needs.
Btw most of the other reviews here the people sounds like real idiots. "
"ifixit has a great selection of products and great manuals online. Just be aware that they are overcharging on shipping. I ordered three rear glass panels for iPhones which weigh very little and they had the gall to charge me $10.20 in shipping. It was obvious I was overcharged when I received the shipment in a flat-rate USPS padded envelope ($4.95)"
"The seller offered misleading video for the replacement of the iPhone battery. It is a lot harder and almost impossible for a regular person without professional tools and microcope to do the replacement successfully at home."
"I highly recommend this website! I had to replace the left fan on my MBP, so I ordered the fan along with a 2GB RAM stick on Friday evening and I received the package on Monday! They only charged me like $3 bucks in shipping too! I just finished replacing the fan and RAM in my MBP and everything seems to be working great. The computer is noticeably faster and the fan is finally quiet again. The instructions on the website was clear with pictures.
Highly recommended and will gladly do business again. =D "
"I recently purchased a replacement iPod LCD for the 5.5 generation iPod and the tools to open the iPod's case. The materials were packed in a small box that was sufficiently padded against drops. The LCD was in pristine condition (as I had expected for a new display) as were the opening tools. Shipping was quick (I chose UPS ground) and everything was in working order. My iPod is now working like (almost) new for only ~$30 compared to the cost of a replacement! I was a little bit hesitant with ordering from a company that had no reviews online, but it seems that I made a good decision in doing so. I would definitely buy from iFixit again."
