"OK, this was simple battery replacement - no screws, just a few snaps - but the thing I liked is that there were detailed instruction on how to do the battery calibration routine.
The iFixit battery seems to have a nice long run duration - like a new computer.
I don't have data but it seems like batteries that I purchased for this same computer on a DIFFERENT (quite large) online retailer - those batteries had a shorter run duration after charging even when brand new."

"I ordered a replacement thumbstick for my xbox one elite controller. the joystick I received from ifixit was not centered on the x axis. The potentiometers also had drift. All in all this part was a waste of money and time to install."

"Got gifted a tool kit from a friend, and unfortunately the spinning cap on my precision driver broke and I reached out to the customer service and got a warranty replacement free of charge. One of the best tool kits out in the market, works wonderful and the quality of the bits and driver are one of the best out there. The driver bits are extremely strong and durable that you'll probably end up stripping or breaking the screw or bolt you're trying to tighten or loose before the bits get a scratch."

"The full kit with all the necessary tools was great. I'll be able to repurpose and re use the driver tweezers etc. I wish there was clearer instruction on where adhesive went. I was able to figure it all out that said the speaker foam took me a lot longer as it was either non-obvious or not written as to where it was supposed to go and it being such a small piece wasn't easy to spot. Would absolutely recommend for the tinkerer friends. "

"The 3 bits for the driver only worked on the outer case screws. The inner screws had a smaller pitch which I had a different tool for.

Other than that, a great kit. I was able to complete the repair in about an hour. The acetone does smell very bad, so good ventilation and taking breaks is important.

It would be interesting if there was a better guide for placing the new battery. Perhaps a jig. Getting the plastic parts to align is a challenge once the glue bonds.

Also my model had 2 screws for the BMC not one, and the trackpad cable was router under the battery not over."

"The kit and the contents of it are fairly decent. Though, the soldering iron itself is really bad and will suffice for extremely easy jobs with large amounts of room, but for basically anything having to do with pcs to small electronics it’s basically useless. The size of the tip makes doing anything impossible on standard small boards and the inability to have any control makes it even harder. Liquid flux would be nice as well but the kit does include “flux infused” materials."

Though I ran into some issues due to the phone case being bent, I managed to carefully bend and carve the metal back into shape. I do have one complaint, Face ID was disabled. "The baterry discharges very quickly till 1% where it remains for a while. Even if you calibrate it again, it the behaviour of the battery does not change which makes the use of the smartphone very inconvenient as you do not know how much battery yo have left."
