Cheap Ink isn't worth it

"A few years ago I came across this company when I was looking for recyclable ink cartridges. I found Inksells and ordered some ink. I had no issues the first time I ordered from them. The second time, I was sent the wrong cartridges, and when I realized it, I reached out to Jake, the manager, who said he would be glad to help. I appreciated this. He told me to return the cartridges for a credit and then I could order the correct ones. Since I didn't have my invoice, he provided me with an RMA number to use. I went on line to print out the return label and sent it back. I had the tracking number from the post office so I decided to see when it was delivered. When I learned that it had been delivered, I called Jake up and he said it wasn't at their warehouse. I gave him the address and he said they hadn't been there for 8 years. I asked him why would the address still be on their website, which he denied. He said he would go and see if the package was still at the old address and if it was he'd be able to help me. If not, there wasn't anything he could do. What irks me is, he said he would do something and he didn't do it. If a company makes a mistake by shipping the wrong ink cartridges, they need to own up and fix it or they will lose business. I will no longer be using Inksells and neither should you."

"I'd actually like to give a 4 1/2 rating, otherwise I'm ecstatic.

I've used them for many years. Never had a problem with bad or wrong merchandise. The ink cartridges have always worked. For me they've been dependable. I can only speak to my own experiences. I'm surprised, frankly, to see such a low score. I would think if they were bad, I would know by now.

"Have used this company for years.. but something has changed. I got a faulty cartridge from them in April, then accidentally mailed a wrong cartridge back to them for exchange. They got my wrong cartridge, and sent it right back to me. I then remailed THE RIGHT cartridge to them IN MAY! Here it is the END OF JULY, and they keep telling me that the Post Office slowly delivers returned items to them at Inksell, so mine must STILL BE AT THEIR POST OFFICE. FOR 2 MONTHS!!! I have email after email where they tell me the exact same thing every time. I finally told them 2 weeks ago to credit my account, because now I do NOT want any of their products, with this kind of customer service. Guess what? They still have my money. I'm still waiting for a refund."

"Wow. I can't believe all the negative reviews. I have had nothing but good experiences with them. I always get my cartridges quickly. They work fine with my printer. (Brother printer) And they are about $7 instead of $35ish. I print a lot because we have a small business and they save us a ton of money.

Also, I messed up and didn't put in a coupon code. I emailed them at 8pm and they responded at 7:11am the next morning and had applied the coupon code to my order.

"I have had two bad experiences with InkSell and their ink cartridges... no more! I purchased 12 cartridges, 9 of the 12 did not work. Stopping your work, having to drive or reorder new cartridges is very frustrating and cost more money especially if you are running a business."

"my printer was working great until I switched to inksell. One of the colors quit working and my printer was permanently damaged even after going back to the original HP inks.
A friend of mine had many problems with that insell ink as well and never again tried it.

"I have ordered NUMEROUS times from this company for multiple store locations. My last order was place on March 30, 2012. I just an email on May 31, 2012 that it has been shipped. This company has NO customer service and is the WORST company I have ever dealt with..... RUN>>> Do NOT use!"

"Customer service ..my ass...not only don't they have the least bit of customer service, I doubt the even know how to spell it.
They won't answer their direct line or their 8oo #..they just leave you hanging on the line, then re-direct you to some other line and tell you to leave a frigging message ..which they have no intention of returning. They SUCK.
Don't waste your time or money with this schmuck outfit!

"Bad customer service, long delivery times and faulty cartridges. I ordered three cartridges for my printer and after waiting more than 2 weeks to receive them, they finally came. I placed the black cartridge in my printer and all the ink came out of a small hole in the bottom of the cartridge and ruined my printer."

"I placed an order for 2 black & 1 color cartridges and it said the items were in stock and that I would receive them in 3-5 business days. After the 3-5 days I received an email from Bizrate asking me to review them as they thought I had received my order. No order, still no order received. I called Inksell today and they tell me they ran out and reordered. They opted not to alert customers to this as they thought it would be back in stock sooner. Shipment just arrived today or so she thinks. I asked how long now and she said at least another 3-5 business days assuming that mine is packaged for shipment with the current order.

I had previously ordered with Inksell and referred many friends to them because they were reasonable priced and delivered as promised! NO MORE REFERRALS...no more purchases from me or my business!

"I am not happy with Inksell.com service! They gave me a terrible time about replacing an ink cartridge that "they" shipped incorrectly to me. The customer rep I will say was very polite when
I talked to them several times but my gosh- they only get their mail
from the post office every other week??? Yes, that is what they told me when I called to check the status of my correct ink cartridge. What kind of business are they running! When you want to keep customers you better get your act together!! My printer finally ran out of ink and I couldn't wait any longer so I went and ordered from another company which I received before Inksell.com finally sent my my correct ink cartridge to me. What a shame I had to go through this.....

"Bought the cheap 'remanufactured' cartridges. You get what you pay for - not a single one worked in my printer. The printer wouldn't even recognize them. By the time I found this out, it was too late to return them. At least I can still take them to Office Depot for recycling and get credit toward decent cartridges."

"This was quite easily one of the worst customer service ordeals I have been through in recent memory.

On October 26, I ordered a combo set of 12 of their "Canon-compatible" inkjet cartridges. The web site listing specifically said they were compatible with my printer, the Canon MP980 (and, as of this writing, the listing still falsely makes that claim.)

When the set arrived on 10/31, I immediately noticed that on the outer packaging of each cartridge, only the black and gray inks (the 220-BK and 221-GY) listed the MP980 as one of the printers they were compatible with. These two did indeed work correctly in the printer.

However, the packages of the eight colored inks (the 221's in cyan, yellow, black, and magenta) did not list my printer as compatible. But, based on the Inksell claim, I tried one of the cyan cartridges in the MP980. Sure enough, the printer then showed an ink tank error and would not print.

I e-mailed customer service and Liz wrote back that they had issued me a "one time replacement" for the cyan cartridge. I replied that I was concerned that all the colored ones would not be compatible because they were specifically not marked as such. She did not reply.

The next day I decided to try the other 221 color cartridges. None of them worked in the printer. I e-mailed Liz again and told her this. I specifically told her about the packaging as well, and how the packages also indicated that they were not compatible with the MP980. I told her I wanted a refund unless she could assure me the replacements she was going to send would definitely work in the MP980. She replied that she was sure the replacements she was going to send would work in the MP980. They would not cross-ship; they insisted on receiving the non-compatible cartridges before they would ship replacements.

A full two weeks later (on 11/14), I received the replacement cartridges. Of course when I opened the package I immediately checked the outside markings of the ink boxes to see if the MP980 was listed on the new ones as a compatible printer. It was not. Ever the optimist, I tried them anyway. Of course, they did not work.

I e-mailed customer service again and told them how disappointed I was with this situation. Two days later, I got a reply from Liz again. She said "I have issued the correct cartridges." I took this to mean she had sent me yet another package, and waited several days. When I had received nothing, I e-mailed her again. She then said that they had shipped the replacements on 11/11, but she was referring to the first set of replacements (confused yet?) and had never sent another set, despite her confusing language. Here's an actual quote - no kidding - repetitions and all - from her subsequent e-mail:

"In response to your email, I would like to inform you that I did inform you that the cartridges are compatible with your printer. No further cartridges were shipped out because Inksell did send the correct cartridges for the MP980. In response to your email, I would like to inform you that I have issued the correct cartridges for the MP980."

Hmm, I see. So anyway, I e-mailed her a picture of the printer's error code to back up my assertion, and she told me they would "look into it." All along, she never acknowledged - nor seemed concerned by - the fact I mentioned several times: that the cartridges' own packaging did not indicate compatibility with my printer. Surely no coincidence, Liz.

She finally instructed me to send the whole lot back again, and said they would issue a refund when they received them. I sent them on 11/23. It is now early December - a full six weeks after I first ordered - and I still have no refund and no ink. I plan to purchase genuine Canon ink elsewhere.

I strongly recommend you avoid these people at all costs. As they say, if a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. I learned a lesson here and hope reading this helps some of you avoid such a terrible experience.
