"My iPad 2 jumped out of my arms and landed flat on its back, shattering the glass. I went and checked with our local Apple location. They said they didn't do repairs, but were not hesitant in referring me to Milliamp. They said this is the only place they will recommend. So I contacted Milliamp. They gave me several options, which included overnight shipping to and back. I needed my security blanket, Linus has nothing on my blankee. Milliamp sent me an email with the prepaid packing label. Off I went to the local UPS station. Off my iPad went and the waiting began. The next morning I had an email from Milliamp saying they had received my iPad and would put it in line for evaluation and repair. Within 30 minutes I had an email saying they realized this was important to me and would take care of it as soon as possible. The email detailed exactly what quality control measures would take place. That afternoon I had an email saying that repairs had been made and it was being handed off to an independent person to verify repairs and full functionality. The next morning, another email saying it has been fully reviewed, found to be fully functioning and would be sent out that day. I say fully reviewed because they listed all of the check off items. Very, very thorough. Got my baby back the next day. I was so thrilled with their service I posted a Thanks and Great Job on my Facebook wall and advised a close IT specialist friend. Today they followed up via email to make sure all is functioning as I hoped and to ask about their service. I said I only had one word to describe it, AWESOME. "I thought my old iPod (3rd Gen.) was toast after years of collecting dust. Well, I just got my "new, old iPod" in the mail today, and I am so excited to use it again after all these years!
Upon firing it up, I popped my earbuds in and listened to some terrific music I hadn't had access to in many moons. All the files were saved and it worked as well as it did the day I came home with it from the Apply Store. Many thanks to Milliamp for making everything right and functional again. The case looks great (replaced due to scratches and dents), the screen is terrific (replaced due to scratches and fading), and everything appears completely spotless.
Overall, the service was fast, friendly, and precisely as promised. I sent it in to be evaluated for a nominal charge that was then applied to the overall repair costs. The staff at Milliamp sent me regular updates via email to keep me posted on what they found, what repairs were needed, and which things were not essential. They even gave me a great price break on replacement parts that were non-essential, but made the iPod basically brand new.
No complaints here, and only praise for Milliamp. I'll be passing their website on to my friends and family -- there are loads of iPods around in need of refurbishment, and it's a great alternative to buying new. They come highly recommended based on my experiences!"
"After a long bout of repeatedly dealing with my local apple store, or an ipod repair place that wasn't out of somebody's garage here in Seattle, I was not convinced that I could salvage my ipod when the battery started to show signs of dying. Don't get me wrong... I am a die-hard apple fan, and will continue to be, but their service counter has a habit of either overcharging me for a simple procedure, or pronouncing a unit dead, when it could have been repaired.
In any event, I took a chance with Milliamp and was not disappointed. My ipod was shipped, received, tested, repaired, and shipped back to me all within one week, and all for about $45, when an apple store would have charged me many multiples of that for the exact same result. Additionally, Milliamp kept me in the loop with frequent email updates as to exactly what was found, and what was being done, as if I had shipped my dog to them for surgury. I assure you that my ipod provides as much companionship as a dog would, so this was very much appreciated. I plan on exclusively using Milliamp for anything apple related, and encourage anyone else to do the same."
