"I thought I could change my Battery on my Classic IPod. Bought the Battery and the tools to open the Ipod. NO WAY!! Went on line for ipod battery repair. Milliamp LTD came up. They first put in a new battery for my 160 gb IPod, and it worked great. But then a week later, my harddrive crashed. Anthony, the owner of Milliamp, was extremely helpful in fixing the harddrive at a cost that fit my budget; not to mention how quickly they fixed it and had it returned to me.

Really and truly, the instructions to do it yourself are very clear. I may be an Electrical Engineer, but my (not as technically inclined) husband could follow them easily as well. I also like that there's YouTube videos showing exactly what to do as well from your company.

"I sent Milliamp my 80Gb I-Pod for a new battery because it was a Christmas Gift back in 2006 and is personally engraved to me and I didn't want to exchange it like Apple does. "My ipod needed a new battery. Searched around and found this site called Milliamp and purchased the battery thinking that I could install it myself.
The install bit turned into a nightmare as my hands and patience factor for such an install was seemingly non-existent. This caused my ipod 30gb to lose all functionality to it's headphone jack as I ripped open the ipod in frustration and the headphone jack assembly broke.
I continued to use the ipod as a data store but was a bit bummed out about the headphone jack. I had my iphone for backup and was using that as my ipod however the iphone form factor is a bit bigger and obviously it's my phone. I needed to get my 30gb back in a listening capacity for my gym workouts. A month or two went by and I decided I can't continue using my iphone, plus it's only the 16gb model and with the way at&t service is I was having to restore all the time. It's was a obscenity-ing issue.
Traversed my email for Milliamp and figured I'd let them repair it. Regardless of what they said on the website I knew I wouldn't see my ipod for another 4-6 weeks.
On October 28th at 12:09PM I ordered the replacement headphone jack assembly for the 5th generation ipod video for $39.00 USD and the smarter option of allowing Milliamp to repair my device for $19.00 USD which bought the total to $58.00 USD. I followed the instructions and shipped my device October 29th (from Upper East Side, NYC USPS for $6.00 dollars) thinking I wouldn't see my ipod earliest late November.
On November 1st at 5:40PM Milliamp sent me a notice letting me know they had received the device and had run several test to verify my problem. Invoice Paid: Total: Little mind.
On November 2nd at 1:33AM Milliamp sent me a notice letting me know my device had been repaired. For those of you just looking at the days here. It hasn't been a full 24 hours if we are to be exact Milliamp repaired my device in roughly 8 hours. When I saw this email, I started to wonder if maybe there was an error. Surely they couldn't have fixed my device so quickly. I was preparing myself to get my device and have to send it back for fear it wasn't working. As I continued reading the email I noticed that Milliamp took it upon themselves to replace the scratched front on my ipod. Why? Well because mine was scratched.. Yeah, but why? "For good measure, we also replaced your black faceplate for another one with far less scratches and scuffs than the one you had at no additional charge just to show our appreciation for your business". WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT?!
That sentence right there started me thinking maybe I was in good hands. I figured, these people obviously know what they are doing. I don't write reviews for companies. I don't.. I'm of the mentality that customer service sucks every where and I rarely if ever have any experience where I rave about something. Ever.
So then, I expected, failure. It obviously would not be shipped for sometime while they actually do the work. Probably just some script or form letter someone sent off to try and assure the customer. I know the drill.. nice try Milliamp, nice try.
November 2nd at 1:45PM I receive an email verifying that my ipod has been fully tested and is expected to ship shortly. WHAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT?!
Simply put, these guys aren't obscenity-ing around. At some point in this whole thing I don't know if it was at this point but I started to take the obscenity seriously. I mean, what the obscenity.. these guys are HITMEN.
Still part of me wasn't convinced.
November 2nd at 4:51PM. I receive an email. My device has shipped. That's when I knew. Whoever is running this operation is ex-military. Or at least knows how to run their own business. Or at the very least knows what it is like to be a customer.
Listen, up to this point and if you have been keeping track. I sent my device Friday October 29th in the later afternoon. Milliamp had repaired and shipped my device Tuesday November 2nd. Two (2) business days from when I sent it.
I expected I wouldn't see the device until the earliest the next week.
Thursday November 4th I saw the order number and package on my property. Opened it. They had my old parts labeled in a small pouch and my new shiny repaired ipod labeled in another, nicely wrapped.
I plugged it in and everything worked flawlessly. Loaded up my music and was riding the subway to my tunes on my Milliamp repaired device this morning. November 5th.
Will I use Milliamp again? You better obscenity-ing believe it. The moment the words "My ipod/iphone" come out of someones mouth. I'll tell them point-blank, you need to obscenity with Milliamp.
If they start repairing Apple laptops i'll never step foot or make an appointment with the Genius bar again. I'm serious. Ever. If you have a broken ipod/iphone don't even bother going to Apple. Just send it to these people. You don't know me from Adam, so you don't have to trust me. Do it, i don't know what else to say.
