"We have worked with Kinzie's Closet for years. Our entire family has been fitted with skates. We keep coming back because they really know their products. Our coaches at the rink continue to recommend them. They help with sizing..just give them your measurements and they help you with fitting in any brand of skate. Also they help you choose which model of skates go best with your skating skills. Their phone number and emails are posted so they easy to get in touch with and ask questions if necessary.
As for previous review of shipping information. They have a whole page dedicated to shipping, so there are no secrets on where they ship or what is and is not considered free shipping."
"So I went on their website and saw they were having a special on free shipping, great right? No because when I tried to purchase It wouldn't check out even though I selected my country and such so I emailed asking for help. She replied hours later with the most r unnecessarily rude response, "Thank you for contacting us. Our website if for US customers only. We do not ship to international destinations. If we did, it certainly woudldn’t be free." WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SPELLING I HAVE EVER SEEN. Firstly the free shipping was very misleading as nowhere on the website do they say they do not ship internationally, and while checking out I was able to select my country and everything which usually with PROFESSIONAL websites they do not allow you to select a country they do not ship to. I politely asked for help and got a rude sarcastic reply, I would have preferred no response at all. Secondly, "**FREE SHIPPING is now for all orders over $125." even if it turned out not to be free shipping I would have gladly paid. But now will be avoiding and telling all my US friends to avoid this rude people as well.

"This is the second time I am attempting to write this review, THAT is how horrible this place is.
A couple of months ago, I ordered some bum pads and requested that they be sent via UPS because my building doesn't accept USPS packages. I told her I would gladly pay the difference and she complained but agreed. She sent me the tracking number for UPS which I excitedly checked daily, and after 7 days of the tracking saying "Label has been created" and nothing else, I sent and email to inquire. She took 2 days to respond and blamed me for her annoyance in having to use UPS for something so tiny instead of USPS like all other small items and only to use UPS for large items. I asked her if maybe she left the item in her office by mistake and she got offended at such an action and blamed UPS and told me to take it up with them and they were probably too lazy to scan the label when they picked it up now 10 days ago. I contacted UPS and they said that they had no record of the package. She ignored my email about what UPS said.
The next day, my package was marked as "picked up" signifying to me, that she had indeed left it in her office by mistake. Instead of apologizing about it she chose to blame me and the UPS driver for her mistake.
I don't know why, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt, and ordered from her again not too long ago, but this time, she wrote the wrong zip code so the package was returned. I emailed her asking for either a refund or a reship and she said she "doesn't give refunds" even tho her website says otherwise. Anyway, I agreed to pay for the shipping again, even tho I paid $9.90 the first time for a $8 item. 10 days later, she finally sends me a paypal request, which I don't have, to pay for $5.50 in shipping. What did she do with the other $4.40 from previously? Instead of eating $1.10 she would rather charge me the FULL amount because according to her "shipping costs are extravagant right now." I was furious, but rather than try to get my money back from my credit card company, which would take 30 days, I decided to be the bigger person and just pay the $5.50 to her ridiculous ****.
I will NEVER do business with her again, and I will be sure to tell anyone I know to AVOID her shop at ALL costs. "
"My manager (a figure skating instructor) helped me with my foot sizing, and he also helped me pick out the right model of figure skates.
He recommended Kinzie's Closet, so I emailed them to confirm my sizing for that brand, and Kinzie's closet responded within 3 hours to give me the correct size. They actually recommended I go up 1/2 size to make room for my socks, and my manager confirmed it was really good advice.
When I placed the order, I received an email with the invoice, saying it would take 1-2 days for processing, and 5-7 days for shipping (though it depends on the product, that timeframe is for figure skates).
I hadn't received a shipping confirmation with tracking number on the 3rd day, so I called to make sure everything had been processed correctly, and I read these reviews so I was a bit worried.
The person assured me that my skates were on the way, but they couldn't get every detail since it was being shipped on the manufacturer's side (Jackson).
I received the product after 7 days, though it wasn't until the 6th day that I received the shipping information. The FedEx tracking history shows that it *did* ship on the 3rd day.
The boots themselves are extremely comfortable. The blades came with a really good factory grind, so they didn't even need to be sharpened before skating with them."

"Be very careful purchasing from this company! At first the owner Jennifer Louthan seemed very helpful in the purchase of my daughters new figure skate boots. I worked directly with her to ensure I ordered the best boot and correct size for my daughter. After placing my order it was lost for a week until I followed up. Once we finally received our order we found out her sizing charts were way off and the boot she verified was the correct size was way too big and too wide for my daughter. Jennifer now refuses to refund or even exchange these boots and we are out $300, and will need to purchase new boots obviously from someone else. She has lost my business for sure!!"
"My experience was beyond excellent. The proof came when I took my skates top the DC Capitals practice arena Pro Shop.
The skate expert complimented the quality of my skates, the fit, and confirmed that this brand was the only one currently available that would fit my foot.
The various ice skate technical Last specifications were beyond helpful in avoiding the wrong skates. The instruction on measuring for skates was superior to the measurement performed at two difference local DC Ice Rinks.
The assistance I received when i called was outstanding. No only was she patient with me, a new skater, she was expert in the unusual triangular foot I have (Narrow Heel, Wide Ball, High Arch).

"Disappointed to order something that the store states fits age 6 and under....my petite 5 year old couldn't have worn that item past age 4. Complete sizing error. I asked to exchange the item, the store said I could but would be charged a second shipping fee ($13.95 for two pairs of gloves). I explained that didn't seem reasonable since their sizes were not correct. The store told me their child wore that item until age 7 so it is correct. I told them I wouldn't order from them again but they didn't seem to care. Horrible customer service and their sizes are incorrect."

There are plenty of places online where you can buy clothing and equipment, but we needed more than just the gear. We needed direction and advice as there are no active figure skaters in our area let alone male ones. Kenzie's closet was helpful in getting just what we needed to start out and no more at a great price. We want to make sure he's committed to the hard work and time involved before investing too much. "My coach recommended me to Kinzies Closet for a new pair of skates. I had no clue what size or brand I needed. After seeing some reviews I decided to check out their website and Facebook pages before ordering. Their website was really a wealth of knowledge. I also read their returns policy as it seems some people had made comments about their returns. I called them and they were super nice. They asked me to email them my measurements. They emailed me back with links to options for different brands of skates and what sizes would probably be the best fit per each brand. I decided on the Jackson Elle. When I got my skates they fit perfect.
It seems that the reviews on this website really don't do them justice but then again Walmart and Barnes & Noble have had bad ratings too. So I don't give too much credit for reviews alone. I found that their Facebook Page more accurately reflects their level of customer service (it says good things when the professional and elite skaters have made comments on their page). They also seem to be highly favored among coaches (at least coaches in my area) because they know what they're doing when it comes to fitting skates. I will certainly buy from them again."

Still waiting for my refund even though they have received the items per my tracking number, not even an email notifying they have received and will refund. "
