could not pay with credit card on any browser due to Javascript error. Only could use Amazon Pay

"took me an hour, 4 browsers on 2 different devices, and 2 chat sessions to be able to make a purchase over the weekend on Sat-Sun Jun 10-11 2023.

All credit card purchase paths give the error:
"Invalid page request. Make sure JavaScript is enabled and settings/plug-ins are allowing all resources to load.
..."

Tried Brave in Private mode on iPhone, Firefox on iPhone. Chatted with Support on Saturday, who suggested Mac.
Failed on Safari on Mac with content blockers disabled.

All of the above are using a credit card.
The error occurs after submitting the credit card for purchase (final "buy" step after all card details are entered).


On Sunday, downoaded fresh Chromium for Mac, Version 116.0.5827.0 (Developer Build) (x86_64)

No content blockers enabled and no plug-ins installed.

Signed in with my account, added my 4 items to my cart (again), went thru whole process of entering card, again got the Enable JavaScript error.

Then I hit Continue Shopping, and tried Amazon Pay instead of Credit Card, and that worked!

Please fix your buggy site with credit cards, clearly it's your site and not the browsers. I've bought with cards before on your site (months ago) so this is new.

Please do more thorough testing! You almost lost me as a customer, and I really didn't have an hour to waste over the weekend, but I wanted the discounted used Apple Watch so I persisted.

2 other bugs:

Login is required again after already being signed in, in 2 flows:

1) "Click to return to the cart and start over" (after the JavaScript purchase fail).

That's not right, and this was repeatable - happened on multiple devices and browsers.

Maddening to user, especially after the fatal error that was false: JavaScript was already enabled on all 4 browsers!

But clicking the link for "click here to return to the shipping/payment screen to try again" works OK, and you stay logged in. So that one doesn't log you out.

2) After "continue shopping" then selecting Amazon Pay (instead of Credit Card path), I had to log in again, and only THEN could I select PayPal BNPL, or Amazon Pay.
Amazon Pay finally worked (In Chromium on Mac).

By the way, why offer PayPal Buy Now Pay Later, but not "real" PayPal?
I would have used that after the first failure if it were available.

I only noticed Amazon Pay on Chromium on the Mac after the 4th error.

This was the worst online shopping experience I've had in 5 years!

Great pricing and saving me the $$$$ of having to buy an entirely new machine
