"I've ordered from oempcworld twice. Both times, the product has been shipped immediately and received quickly. Both times, I received an email/call asking if the transaction went well and if there was anything I needed.
On one occasion, a memory chip was faulty and required replacement. The replacement was handled quickly, and was relatively painless.
Solid customer service, great prices and fast shipping. I'll be shopping here again."
"WARNING: If they ship you a DEFECTIVE product, they will not refund their shipping fee when you return it for a refund. And if there was "Free shipping", they will DEDUCT a shipping fee from your refund!
***FAIL***"
"They shipped me a thumb drive that their sales person said would work with Windows 98SE. It does not - confirmed by the tech support of the drive's company. Now oempcworld sales folk will not answer my emails asking for a refund or replacement. They are untrustworthy."
"I ordered a specific type of RAM from their website, that was shown to be in stock (their business model apparently mostly works by ordering a generic brand, not a specific model). I got an email saying my order had shipped some days after the order was made, but 3 days after that I got an email saying the part I ordered was out of stock, so it hadn't shipped after all. They offered me another item instead but did not provide any other information about the part except the brand, even when I specifically asked for it. I cancelled the order.
Also check out the terms and conditions before buying. Their "guarantee" that the RAM you buy will work in your computer is just a normal right to return the product at your cost. The guarantee does not actually mean anything."
"Have ordered from them 3 times, both PC RAM and camera memory cards, they shipped fast and sent the right items each time. Most recent order was for some 1GB memory cards that can no longer be found in stores. Reasonable prices, free shipping, fast delivery. I recommend them as a good place to shop."
"Do NOT send in your old memory to this company. They advertise they give you 35-50% of what they sell the memory for on their website. I sent in 6 newer memory sticks and they gave me $8 in store credit. What a coincidence that they only refund your credit card if it's $10 or more. Otherwise, you get store credit.
So they take your memory, give you well below its worth and then expect you to buy from them again. Not a chance.
My advice: Find another company that offers a buyback."
"I ordered a pair of 1 GB laptop memory for an Everex, a rare name. The site has a nice tool for me to search for the right memory. I was afraid of ordering from other sites since there are so many types of memories and this site helped me to find the right one. The order came in at expected time and the laptop is now upgraded to 2 GB from 512 MB. No complaints."
"I ordered and paid for a SONY brand memory card.(Picture shown is a SONY M2 4GB memory). Cheaper product received and is not as ordered. Fine print found on page saying seller will mail out whatever is availabe. I consider it is a Fraud."
"This company really annoyed me. They advertise a flash drive through PriceWatch at a lower price then there website. I ordered one and emailed them about the price difference and they gave it to me at the lower price, as they should. I liked it so a couple days later I ordered another one and emailed customer service about the price difference once again. This time they ignored me so I had to send repeated emails and finally I called to ask them what's up. I hate being ignored. A manager - check this out - told me they did me a favor on the first order and would not honor the lower PriceWatch price on my second order! We’re talking about a whopping $1.00 difference. I don't like a place that operates this way and I recommend staying away from these bums.
11/9/09 Update. I received a $1.00 credit on my charge card. I'm glad they did this. But the PriceWatch "Special Price" still shows to be $4.00 so I suggest clearing this up before committing order."
"Oempcworld.com is a terrific supplier. I've been buying ram for a multitude of desktops and laptops for more than a decade and have never had a problem that wasn't resolved quickly and faily. Top notch vendor! Quality product. Easy to use web site. The owner has been happy to speak with me when I've had questions the staff couldn't answer. "
"No problems--best price and shipping cost combination for what I was shopping for. Recommended and would buy from again."
"Very rude service! Don't want to do any bussiness with them! Bad and defected module! The sales person thinking it is normal to ship the defect module to customers.
Here is the first E-mail I received when I found it is not compatable with my PC, please judge it by yourself.
"Hello ###, if this module is not working correctly it is a fault in the memory, not a compatibility issue and we apologize for that. The memory is simply defective and would need to be replaced. It is the correct ram for this computer."
Second letter about the buyback envelope:
"You can go to Rite Aid or CVS or Walgreens or such and purchase abubble-wrap lined mailer for under 50 cents. You could use one of those tosend it back"----Actually I paid $3.00 for the buyback envelope.
Don't buy the envelope!"
"Excellent Buying Experience-Quick shipping-Good description-Good product"
"Extremely knowledgable and helpful... Fast and accurate shipment... Arrived as promised... Definitely would do business with OEMPCWORLD again.
Additional info:
I had problems with my PC when I inserted the new memory - apparently, W/ME doesn't support 1G of memory, which I did not know. I sent an email requesting assistance. I received a response within a very short time explaining the issue with W/ME and offering to refund my money if I could not get the memory to work.
Thees folks are terrific. They bend over backwards to assist. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that asked."
"Since their online configurator couldn't find an exact match for my obscure laptop (panasonic toughbook cf-m34 700MHz), I ordered three modules expecting to return two. Their ordering system makes it easy to tack a "return envelope" onto the order for $3, which I considered a fair price for the ability to "abuse" their return system in this way.
The modules arrived two days later, ensconced in antistatic bags and packed along with a stiffening piece of cardboard inside the heavy return envelope, which was in turn inside a larger FedEx mailer. I'm a picky shipper and this struck me as a very efficient way of providing all the protection needed for a handful of SODIMMs.
As it turns out, my laptop's motherboard has 0 meg soldered on and can accomodate a max of 256 in the module slot, so there's no way to take it to 512. I ended up returning the two expensive modules and keeping the cheapest one, the 256. The return process was smooth and uneventful, though it took some time to credit the refund. They say they test all returned modules and I assume this is what caused the delay.
Except for the less-than-comprehensive configurator, OEMPCWorld did everything right. Their website is short on crap and long on technical details, just the way I like it. "
