"Good prices and decent web site. Although, one main purpose of an ecomm web site is to allow a customer to place an order wo/having to deal with sales reps. When I'm told to call in because my secondary credit card address wasn't on record with my credit card company (even though it was) and then get plagued with the sales rep trying to sell me accessories, that doesn't bring me back. NO MEANS NO. I should not have to give reasons why."
"I'm a happy ProtekDirect customer. Good price, low shipping charge, and good packaging. The website said it would take 24-72 hrs to process, therefore I knew there would be some delay. Order status can be viewed online. Everything is smooth except that customer service took a while to reply e-mail. I happened to have question about the status. The Order Status page said "Confirmation Request Email Sent", but I didn't receive anything. That's why I asked, who they sent this e-mail to. Aside from that, it's flawless. I highly recommend this seller."
"After reading all of the unsatisfied comments for net vendors in general, I was pretty nervous about purchasing something this expensive. I purchased a Fuji Finepix S602 from ProtekDirect one week ago today(11-22-2002). I received the camera this afternoon. I took a quick look at the camera and took a few pictures of my son. The camera worked beautifully and everything was as expected from a local retailer. Unfortunately, this is an Xmas present for my wife so cant go bananas with it for a month. For all those who "have to know immediately", read the sellers popup that tells you it is going to take three days to process the order. Mine did. Be patient, you'll get what you want."
"I ordered a ZR50MC. At first I was a bit skeptical about this company. When I read the reviews they sounded like fakes because they praised the same people. I was also given the runaround by two order companies before I tried Protekdirect.com. I ordered by phone to avoid the delay that the other companies gave me when I ordered on the web. I was given a short pitch on accessories, and denied them. I thought that I was going to hear the same old story, “Oh, did you say ZR50, that’s out of stock”, but I didn’t. Couple of days later I received my camera (NTSC Model) just like I wanted. My only complaint is about the sells receipt, it lacks personalization and I fear the Canon would not accept it for warranty purposes. I guess I’ll find out soon. "
"Ordered a Canon s230 on 11/14/2002. Received today, 11/21/2002. Price was the best I could find from shopper.com. The product was delivered as promised. Protekdirect has a policy on many items that they will wait 24-72 hours to "confirm" the order before shipping. I don't know what they have to confirm, but my order took 72 hours to be processed before being shipped. However, the web site has a good interface to allow you to see exacatly where the product stands. One other strange thing is that I received a regular credit card store receipt like I had walked in the local shop in NY and purchased the product locally. I guess it doesn't matter, but the guy probably just pulled the camera off the shelf and shipped it to me."
"Every telephone communication with Protekdirect resulted in false information being provided to me. Three times I was told that my product had been shipped but the tracking number was unavailable because it came from the "alternate warehouse," when, in fact, the item had not shipped at all. After I indicated that I could no longer use the item, it was shipped. Then I was told that it could be rerouted to arrive somewhere by a specific date, but calls to Fed-x proved this information to be false. Cutomer Service would not participate in a 3 way call with the shipper to straighten this out but would instead put me on hold and then tell me that Fed-x said it would arrive by a cetain time when Fed-X subsequently told me that was not the case and was, in fact, impossible. I spent 3 hours on the phone dealing with this and had to purchase the equipment from an alternative source. After this, they want to charge me a restocking fee on refused merchandise. This transaction seemed to cross the line between bad luck and bad intentions. I will never order from them again."
"Wanted to buy a Canon Powershot G2. Registered on their site - it forced me to put in a credit card number just to register. They called me to see if I had a problem with my order, since they had a credit card and no order. Told them I had not ordered anything yet but was interested. Was given Larry's number to call. Decided to order a few days later. Ordered over the internet on Nov. 5. Their tracking showed sent to processing Nov 6, sent to verifications Nov 7. After not hearing from them or seeing the status change by Nov 11, I called them. They said it would ship in 24 hours - no upselling, just a status. Nov 12 it showed going to shipping and gave me FedEx tracking number. FedEx did not pick up until the night of the 13th. Arrived on 15th, quicker than they said. Camera is great, looked brand new, all accessories wrapped, but battery was charged up (not normal) and camera box wasn't sealed. No problems so far. If ordering from them, I would call to confirm order and shipping. Although it took longer than I thought, I was very happy with their price and would consider ordering from them again."

"I ordered a Sony Mini-DV Camcorder DCR-TRV950 from a very helpful, courteous, and friendly sales person by the name of Larry. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase extras. At first I reviewed all of the positive comments on this reseller ratings site and later kidded Larry about Protek writing their oun reviews since they sounded so good. I told him I would also give Protek a good review but only after I got the video camera. Due to a Credit Card address mix-up (Not Protek's fault) my order was delayed somewhat; but, it was shipped this past Monday (11/11) and arrived at my door around 1 PM on Wednesday (11/13). Hey, everything is as advertised. I certainly would order from Protek again. I believe this is a nice little family business that is trying to establish a reputation for good prices and honest and fair service. I am very please with my decision to buy from them!

Speaking of shipping...5 days to receive which I feel is great considering I ordered on a friday and item was rec'd on Tuesday. Prices were excellent too...one of the least expensive.
