"RefurbDepot has got to be THE WORST internet business, period. I ordered a digital camera from their website on 06/29/03 and the only email I ever got was an automated one saying my order was "pending review". Over the course of several weeks I emailed their support department 6 times and the only thing I ever got back was an email that said "there is a 3-5 day availability on your product". In several more emails, I repeatedly asked if my product had shipped and if I could get a UPS tracking number. I received no reply. I finally got fed up after several weeks (on 07/14/03) and sent an email and a phone message saying I would like to cancel my order. Fortunately, my credit card was never billed for some reason, so even if these punks don't ever cancel my order, they haven't stolen any money from me yet. The bottom line is that these guys are a complete joke. They wasted several weeks of my time and I now have to order my camera from elsewhere. Please, do NOT EVER order from these people. They are criminals. It blows my mind to think that they remain in business (despite many complaints filed to the BBB)!"
"I wished that I had ordered from a different company. I ordered a Sony DSC-F717 on June 19th 2003 and was told by Josh and Joe that it would ship....4 different times. A different excuse every time. I finally had to cancel my order on July 8th. Straight talk/and a lack of BS is in short supply from these jokers."

6/3/2003 -- I called and was told that the item had NOT shipped and would ship that day. When asked why i was lied to, I got a "Sorry."

6/11/2003 -- Item arrives with NO INVOICE. Also, it does NOT have the factory sealed box, it was packed with some damn styrofoam and a brown box. Item seams to work.

"Very poor customer service. The item I bought was defective. They didn't respond to emails. I called and was told I'd get a RMA# that day. When I called again the next afternoon they said they didn't have any info of my first call or my emails. It still took another day before I got the RMA number and the woman I spoke to was all but rude."

I have bought refurb products many times and usually they work great so I was not new to the whole world of slightly used products. My order and check out worked great however I seem to remember that they never sent me a conformation email. I never really worried about it since I really didn't need the phone immediately. Two weeks later, I get an email from them which gave me the UPS tracking number. When checked, it had been sent the day earlier. Anyway, got the product a week later, and everything works fine. "Purchased a Toshiba SD-P2000 portable DVD player at Sat 3/22/2003 @ 5:22pm. Around 5:40pm the same day, I decided that I did not want the product after reading numerous problems with this company. Sent an email asking them to cancel the order and to write back letting me know that it was canceled. I called there 800 # on 3/24, but was on hold for around 30 minutes 1 time and then the # was busy for over an hour, gave up! Not being able to check email on Monday, Tuesday 3/25/2003 I found out that they shipped out anyhow. They did not respond to the my email until 3:07pm Monday afternoon. Recieved email conf on 3/25/2003 with package tracking (UPS did not pick up the package until 7:14pm on 3/24 - plenty of time to cancel the order). Sent an email back stating that I was not paying for their inability to conduct business and responding late to emails. This was at 9:41am on 3/25. Recieved a email back telling me to call there 800 #. Order arrived on 3/26. Told UPS that I refused shipment. They recieved it back on 3/28 and I was telephoned by an employee asking me what was wrong. I explained the situation and told him that I did not expect to pay for there error on not canceling my order again! Order was $535.90 + $30.21 for shipping for a total of $566.11. Recieved a credit 4/2 for $464.50? I called there # and spoke to the so called manager. She said I was being charged a restocking fee of 15% even though I never took possesion of the product. After arguing with her on the phone for 20+ minutes, she finally admited that they could have removed the package from being sent out, but was just too lazy to do it! The whole time stating that the order was processed on Sunday, and was impossible to cancel even though UPS did not pick up the product until 7;14pm 3/24. She is refusing to credit me the full amount. When asked to speak to someone above her, she said that there was no one else above her. I asked if she was the owner and she replied no, so there is someone above her, but refused to give a name or number for him/her to be contacted. Since speaking with this company today, I have contacted the BBB, the New York States Attornies Office, and my credit card company to file a complaint with them as well.
PLEASE, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A RIP OFF! THERE CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS THE WORST I HAVE DEALT WITH IN A LONG TIME! THIS PLACE IS A CROCK! THEY HAVE HAD MANY BETTER BUSINESS BEREAU COMPLAINTS AND REFUSE TO ANSWER THEIR LETTERS! THEY HAVE CRUDDY RESELLER RATINGS AS WELL! NOT TO MENTION NOT HAVING TO GO THROUGH WHAT I AM FIGHTING NOW. "Be very careful with these people! It took me 3 weeks to get my order. I stuck with it because of the 'fantastic' deal I was getting. For 3 weeks I was given much misinformation. I was told on at least 3 different ocassions that my order had shipped... it had not! Finally on my last day of patience with this company (exactly 3 weeks since I had placed my order) I sent an email to immediately cancel my order & within 1-2 hours I received a phone call from the company stating that the order was definetly in this time & that it was going to ship that day. I told them that if it was 'absolutely' in that I would not cancel the order... they assured me that it was really in & going to ship that day. I was very concerned about this because I was going to go to a 'huge' computer expo that morning to make my purchase. Well, a few days later I finally received my order, an HP Pavilion 763c. I have now had this computer for almost 2 weeks & have been very, very happy with the deal I got! P.S. This company has very poor customer service, esp. over the phone... they act like they could care less about my order situation, etc... each & every time I would call I felt like I was disturbing them! I would still order from them again, but only if I could get a 'great, great' deal again.

"Ordered a Technics CD player online. Got back an order acknowledgement with the wrong credit card expiration date (not my fault; I checked). Sent three e-mails trying to get confirmation of the order being processed or problems, with no response. Called "customer service" and was told I'd be called back in 15 to 20 minutes. Waited over an hour, no response. Sent another e-mail saying respond in 24 hours or cancel the sale. Anyone care to guess what happened next? Maybe they're cheap, or maybe they're fly-by-night. "I bought a camcorder and a laptop from them.. they pulled 1600 dollars from my credit card, then sent only the camcorder. then, they pulled an additional 360 dollars (this is a debit card too) which caused my mortgage to bounce. I never got my laptop and had to call my credit card company to get my money back. Don't EVER buy from these people!!!!"
"I bought a camcoder about a couple of weeks ago. They said it'd ship in 2-3 days. Now, it's been about a week and a half and it hasn't even been shipped! I've call them and been told that it'd be shipped the next day and I was told that about 3-4 times now. So I know they're lying. The customer reps are very unpleasant also. I don't see how they can conduct their business like this and still around. Beware of this site. "

Be very leary of any business who attempts to hide their true identity and geographical location. Obviuosly, they don't want angry customers walking in on them in person. While my transactions with them have not been adverse, I am certainly aware that I am lucky in that regard. "

When I called they said someone would call me back. They didn't. When I called again, they claimed that they just ran out and were going to call me today. I don't think their response was credible and agree that they should not be allowed to transact business
