"I truly believe they didn’t put enough effort on my case. The airline which I flew stated that I was late for my fly when I there 2 hours ahead of it, the airline made me paid a late arrival fee and put me in a another fly 36 hours later. I learn that this airline has this bad service to their customer, they overbook their fly and make their passengers paid extra blaming them for the it. My dissatisfaction with this insurance is mostly because they didn’t investigate my claim they went directly to establish I was late. I was not, the airline said it. Being 2 hours ahead of a fly is plenty of time to board a plane. Their excuse it that They have so much business therefore passengers have to be at the airport 3 to 4 hours ahead of their fly this is ridiculous. First I bought this insurance mostly because Covid in case of any emergency. I learn that I will never fly with that company anymore and I will not make business with this insurance company either."

"EVERYONE deserves a vacation, especially during extremely stressful COVID-19 times. So my husband and I haven't been able to travel for the past 5 years due to family losses; First was my mom-in-law diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer which took her life just 6 months of being diagnosed. One week after she passed, my brother gets diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and lost that battle 3 months later. Sad and heartbroken, his service was held on our 25th wedding anniversary. On the day of his service, my 89 year old sweet, loving, kind, generous and phenomenal mom suffers a heart attack. Thankfully, she recovered but since we care for her we have not been able to get away. We finally decide it's SAFE to travel for our 29th anniversary (Jan 30,22) and book with inspiration cruises. COVID-19, Delta Variant on the rise again, we still take care of mom so may be, not a great idea after all. We purchase travel insurance thinking "just incase we can't go" we will be protected and refunded. WRONG!!!! How do business take hard earned money from consumers in a quick second but when a refund is respectfully requested, they immediately say, "SORRY" you are not eligible for a full refund, even though you purchased travel protection. The cruise line kept $200 of our deposit "administrative fees" and TRAVELEX kept another $180. of our hard earned money stating, we are not eligible for a refund. Just like that we lost $380. and neither company cares to help us. Needless to say, we won't be traveling in January for our anniversary after all and are basically S*^% OUT OF LUCK. "

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company’s (“BHSIC”) is the underwriter and claim administrator for the Travel Basic policy purchased. Travelex Insurance Services (“Travelex Insurance”) does not make claim determinations. However, we have contacted BHSIC and have been advised that the claim was denied because the reason for filing a Missed Connection claim, is not listed as a covered reason in the policy.
Claim Denial Summary
In relevant part, your Policy wording states:
SECTION II
SUMMARY OF BENEFITS
MISSED CONNECTION
If, while on a Trip, You miss a Trip departure resulting from cancellation or delay of at least 3 consecutive hours of all Your regularly scheduled airline flights due to Inclement Weather or Common Carrier caused delay, the Company will reimburse You up to the Maximum Limit shown in the Schedule for:
(a) additional transportation expenses incurred by the Insured to join the departed Trip; and
(b) pre-paid, non-refundable Trip payments for the Unused portion of the Trip.
The Common Carrier must certify the delay of the regularly scheduled airline flight. Coverage is secondary if reimbursable by any other source
The submitted claim documentation indicated that you were late for the flight and missed your boarding call. Your policy is a listed peril policy, meaning the reason for the missed flight must be listed in the policy. Based on the policy wording listed above, the reason for your loss is not included as a covered peril on the policy; therefore, we are unable to extend benefits under the Missed Connection portion of the policy.
We empathize with your situation, unfortunately airline check-in protocols do change. It is important to remember that insurance is highly regulated, and documentation is required, for any claim.
