"I am in charge of IT for an ad agency. This was the first custom built PC I'd purchased after buying/configuring literally hundreds of Dells so I went into this purchase with some trepidation. Dell didn't make a pc that filled these particular requirements at a reasonable price so after a lot of research I found AVA Direct.
Could not have been happier with the experience. They were helpful every step of the way and thus far the PC is performing to spec."
"I was hesitant to order a custom build online until I found this website with nothing but stellar reviews. The customer service is spectacular. They sincerely want your experience with them to be very good. That alone goes a long way in my book. My computer came as I expected it to and works great.
I'm sorry to say that it was just about 4 weeks from order date to delivery date. That was the only bummer but I happened to have a laptop so I wasn't totally stranded. Great Job, Great Company. I'll go back & will refer anyone who asks about getting a custom build. Thanks Gang!"
"After doing my usual research, I found AVADirect to have the best selection and pricing of any internet laptop OEM manufacturer. Although I had a few issues: A hard drive which was not properly identified, but easily remedied by Joseph in customer service prior to assembly. The laptop arrived in a triple boxed configuration and shipped as promised. The laptop had a touch pad problem, which the pad was raised on the front right side, slightly above the bezel. I don't know if this passed their QC process or if shipping caused the problem. I informed Joseph of the problem and he arranged prepaid shipping directly to the manufacturer, thus cutting down the repair time immensely. Total turn time was only 4 days! Now that I have it back, I am quite satisfied not only with the new laptop(It's wicked fast!) but with the excellent customer service support from Joseph. I would recommend AVADirect to anyone wanting a custom made computer. Sure you can go to any of the big box stores and get your computer now or you can wait and really get what you want."
"I recently purchased a core i7 2600K computer from AVADirect. They have some systems you can buy directly but I chose a system that I could specify each part of: case, ram, motherboard etc. I chose a system where the ram was too fast for the motherboard and AVADirect contacted me on the same day to let me know the issue and I picked out a compatible motherboard. I did this through their online help system so no phone call was needed. The custom-built system showed up in three weeks in a very safely (but not fancy) packaged brown box.
The system was a very good price. There may be cheaper systems out there, but I did a lot of searching and I found their price to be the best for the custom machine I was looking for.
A month after I had the machine it would not turn on. The customer support was very helpful and troubleshooted the issue as the power supply. They covered this under warranty and shipped a new one out. They offered to change out the power supply for me but I preferred to do it myself so I would be back running more quickly."
"First, just a little background info: This is my 3rd computer purchase from AVA. See my other review dated 9/13/11. Each computer is a functional work of art, and obviously shows craftsmanship you rarely see in any product nowadays.
So when I decided to go all out on this last build I did so with full confidence and trust in their quality and care they put into their product. But when I first configured and ordered the system online, I called a few days later to make a couple of changes. Lo and behold, Joe Mundy answered the phone and helped me do a total makeover and turn this build into a once in a lifetime dream come true super machine. He treated me like I was his only customer and like he had all day to discuss every detail with me. This man loves his job and he shows it in every way. And I don't mean just in the computer itself, but in every aspect of customer service along the way. He is not just a salesman, he is an advisor, a guru, a teacher, and all around great guy who wants to help you get the best computer for the price. I decided to go big, go for the very best which basically meant screw any concept of a budget. Needless to say, this really gets expensive, but it opens up all kinds of possibilities. and these possibilities are now a reality sitting in my home. I won't bore you with the details, except to say that as it took shape we made quite a few changes, and Joe was always courteous, professional, and excited to help tweak this thing into a monster, right down to the last detail, including a gold metal flake custom paint job. Water cooled, titan x video cards, gobs of ram and storage, gigantic radiators, overclocked everything, all in an overdose of eye candy. Words cannot do it justice.
But I digress, the point I want to make is that customers are treated like royalty. These guys go way beyond what would be considered adequate, and provide a personal experience that will restore your faith in humanity (I'm not exaggerating, I am that impressed). Even when there were problems that came up Mr Mundy came through with a solution everytime. Even when it came to shipping the finished computer we didn't want to let UPS handle such a valuable unique work of art, Joe shipped it via freight on a pallet and it arrived in perfect condition.
Don't worry if you aren't computer savvy, he will help you build what just what you need to get the job done with no condescension or impatience. To top it off you get a 3 yr parts/labor guarantee and lifetime technical support. Yeah, you can buy a computer anywhere, but not with this level of customer service. How often do you get a reply to your email the same day, or phone calls returned ASAP? I want to cheer these guys on, they deserve success. Listen to a happy 3 time customer."
"I have to say that, closing in on a year after purchase, I have been very pleased with the system I ordered from AVA Direct.
The order process was great. I built the machine of my desire, got a quote that was good for the time needed to compare apples-to-apples with other vendors. And, when I was ready to purchase, I received some excellent sales support!
Good price, great service--what's not to like?!

"I am enjoying the system that I had built for me by AVA Direct very, very much. I wanted to pick out my own components, so I started with the DIY 2-way SLI socket 1366 template. I went with the i7-960 on a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R MB maxed out with 24 gigabytes of Mushkin DDR3-2000 RAM. I already had two EVGA 350 GTX video cards, which were a snap to install in the Antec Nine Hundred Two case.
I included two HDDs, along with a DVD Writer - knowing that I'd be adding my own Blu-ray player and more drives later. AVA Direct prepped the additional cables for me, along with great cable management. They also positioned the four power connectors for my EVGA cards - the cables were right where the cards needed them. Nice touches all around.
I got the optional LED lighting kit. Note: It's bright! It's also very cool in a darkened room. No regrets at all for that choice.
Excellent packing inside the case for shipping - there were pink foam blocks, and everything was right where it should have been when it got here.
The technican working on my system was excellent - in addition to all the things above, he was very quick in turning around questions I had.
I've been ordering systems for over 20 years, and this is by far my favorite of all of them. If you want a system that you have maximum configuration control over - and at a price that doesn't break the bank - you cannot go wrong with AVA Direct."
"Purchasing a custom-built desktop from AVADirect.com was one of the best decisions I ever made. I grew tired of buying pre-packaged computers with cheap parts and no room for significant upgrades. I thought about building one myself but I didn't trust my clumsy nature with all of those valuable components. So I put my faith in AVADirect.com and I'm glad I did.
I was able to choose each and every component and maintained conversations with Joe Mundy, my service/sales rep. I requested that they make my two PCI-E connectors easily accessible and they followed through with my request. The cable management inside is a work of art, it really looks like my computer was put together with love. They were up-front with me about the turnaround time and surprised me by actually shipping my computer 2 days before I expected.
The computer was packed solidly in a discrete box. They included all of my product manuals and extra attachments/cables. The computer fired right up and hasn't slowed down since. I have been telling everyone I know to stop wasting money at Best Buy/Circuit City and start getting some bang for your buck. If you are in the market for a PC and you can be a little patient, AVADirect.com is the way to go."
"This is a change from a less than favorable review I had given a while back. These guys did come through quite unexpectedly. In business, the sign of a great company is one who knows how to recover or take care of a less than good situation, and they did in my case. Being a media producer covering famous celebrities and using extensive CGI in my films, I need a system to perform flawlessy. And I have one thanks to AVA Direct."

We would just like to take this time to thank the reviewer for his willingness to allow AVADirect to make things right per his situation. The end-user required a very high-end workstation for his demanding line of work and after many conversations between us and the end-user we came to an agreement to satisfy both parties. Sincerely, AVADirect
"After having a bad experience in the past few months with two computers that arrived with numerous problems that required shipping back to the manufacturer for repairs (I chose to take a refund instead, one good thing to say about those companies) purchasing from AVA Direct was a breath of fresh air. I felt that my sales person Joseph Mundy really cared about me getting an excellent compuer. Throughout the whole process I need only to call or send Joe an email and i would get a quick response and this continued after I recieved the computer and had a few questions. As far as the computer itself goes I could not have built a better computer. Not only does my computer look awesome it has run flawlessly since the moment I turned it on. Another thing I liked about AVA-Direct is that I received my computer with windows already set up with all the drivers and windows updated. It also came with a checklist by the person who actually assembled the computer detailing all the tests and checks that were performed. There is an AVA drectory on the computer with the results of various tests and benchmarks perfomed on the computer. This assured me that the computer definetly went through quality control unlike one of the computers I returned which had device drivers with yellow exclamation marks. Overall AVA did a great job and I would not hesitate a second recommending AVA-Direct to a friend or purchasing another computer from them. It was a very pleasant experience."
"AVADirect is definitely the best computer seller I have ever dealt with. In a market increasingly concerned with cutting corners to offer a lower price than the competition, AVADirect does no such thing and still prices parts lower than the competition.
I spent an exhaustive amount of time researching all of my parts, along with their prices at AVADirect where the computer would be built for me as opposed to built by myself. I mainly used NewEgg for comparison. Almost every part was significantly cheaper at AVADirect (if I recall, several of my parts, which are only $100-ish to begin with, ended up being $20 or $30 cheaper).
This made me a bit worried about how the computer would end up being built and running, since I had just found AVADirect by a Google search, although their numerous glowing reviews helped to calm my nerves a little. My worries were all wrong.
It did take a while to get the computer since a couple of my parts were back-ordered, which they were extremely upfront about -- they tell you about a thousand times before you order that some parts need to be ordered specially and can take an extra week or so. They also stress test every system for something like 24-72 hours before shipping, just to make sure you have a very low chance of getting one of those infamous, extremely annoying defective parts that parts manufacturers send out all the time. If you've ever built your own computer, you know what I'm talking about, and will appreciate this service immensely.
But holy cow, when I got it, I began trusting AVADirect more than any computer seller I have ever dealt with (and I have dealt with a lot). Never have I bought something, let alone a computer, that I felt as much care had gone into assembly, packaging, and other such things solely for my benefit.
First of all, the thing came double boxed. The first box was filled with packing peanuts so as to prevent the second box from moving at all. In the second box, the computer was extremely secure by the styrofoam that you typically see in computer boxes -- I felt like I could have went at the surface box with a baseball bat without any hope of damaging the computer.
And it didn't stop there. When I opened up the boxes, I found a piece of paper detailing how I was to make sure absolutely nothing bad happened during shipping and that everything would work as it should. The directions for removing the further packing material that they had inserted *into the computer itself* were very straightforward and easy to follow -- it took me about 5 minutes, and might have taken a less experienced user only slightly longer. They even offered live help with opening up the computer and removing the packing material if necessary!
This allowed me to see and admire the spectacular build quality. I have never seen a computer this cleanly built. Every screw I unscrewed felt exactly as tight as it should be, every bundle of cords was neatly placed and tied up, and I have honestly never seen a case that looked emptier, which means that some of my high-heat components will probably last quite a bit longer than they would otherwise.
I got the computer in early June, and it's late July. I haven't had any problems so far with any of the hardware, and I absolutely don't expect any. I did have some case fan vibrations going on, which, as the rep I talked to yesterday said, were fixed in less than a minute by slightly tightening the screws outside of the case.
This is where I will give some advice to people when shopping AVADirect. They offer pretty much exclusively products by extremely well-known brands. This does not mean that they only offer the good, reliable stuff -- if they did that, I don't think there's any way parts manufacturers would continue working with them, since they'd basically be saying "Yeah, a lot of what these companies make will fail pretty quickly. Here are the coincidences that don't do that." You have to do your own research. I personally checked Newegg for the exact combination of products that had no review history of failure after a few months, which is the kind of product that burns builders all the time.
Now, I know that many people won't want to do this kind of exhaustive searching -- if they don't want to, they will "just" get a much better and probably cheaper product than they would have if they had bought the parts themselves and built the computer! This is in no way AVADirect's fault, and I am positive that considering average build quality, even if ASUS designed a motherboard incorrectly or something, an AVADirect computer would have that same board last longer than in a normally-built computer.
The only negative I could find with them after almost 2 months of ownership was that their monitors were more expensive than other places. I assume this is because of some sort of volume problem that doesn't exist for them in the department of computer parts -- look elsewhere for a monitor, but buy your computer from here, or you are seriously cheating yourself."
"We were referred to the AVA Direct Custom Computers through a friend of my daughter. He was able to design a computer to fit our needs. When I ordered the computer, all of you were very kind, patient, and willing to assist in what it was that we needed to design our present computer. I am very grateful we went through you to purchase our latest computer. When we did have some difficulties with our computer a while back, you were able to help guide us in order to resolve the problem. Thank you for developing a good quality, and reliable computer and helping us and being patient with the development and the purchasing of our computer."
