Gazelle lied, cheated
"I bought an iPhone from Gazelle in December 2022 that was supposed to be unlocked. It wasn’t. I paid extra for an unlocked version but Gazelle cheated me out of my money!"

Bait & Switch
"Do not expect to receive the rate they quote you when trading in your phone. Once you send it in and they "inspect" it (which takes forever, by the way), they'll make up reasons to reduce the payment, stating there are "more than the acceptable number of scratches." They also stated they were unable to wipe the device which is complete bunk as I wiped the device before sending it. While going through this nonsense and waiting for them to send the device back after declining their lowball counteroffer, you'll lose out on the better offers from more reputable companies."

Bait & Switch Scam
"Bait and Switch fraud scam! Gave me an offer and now claim that my perfect phone has “scratches” on it, which it doesn’t and they will adjust their offer from $579 to $344. My phone is perfect, always had tempered glass screen protector and in a heavy duty case since new, Gazelle is a total scam! This is a classic bait and switch and they are just hoping to catch enough people to make this fraud worthwhile."

Bait Lies, and Switch
"Have used Gazelle in the past, and they were great. Got a valuation on an iPhone 8 to sell them. Phone was in like new, pristine condition. Always in a case, so not a scratch anywhere. Looks brand new. Was quoted $64 and mailed it in. They emailed back that the phone had way too many scratches to be considered in good condition, and offered $40 instead. Asked for the phone back. Received it, and it is (still) pristine, not a hint of a scratch anywhere. Seems they have now resorted to lying to customers and not honoring their initial offer, assuming most customers who have already sent in their phone will just accept the new low-ball amount. Don’t deal with these crooks. There are other places, like Best Buy, and even Apple that will pay top dollar. It may be for store credit, but at least they don’t try and deliberately con you."

Disreputable Company
"They made a mistake in receiving the phone I wanted to sell them. As a result they paid me $78 less than what they originally offered. I tried calling and emailing them to explain the problem to them, but could never communicate with them. The people who answer the phone do not have any information and are not able to help. My emails go unanswered. I consider them very dishonest."

Bait and switch scam. Avoid at all cost
"I am one of those rare people who have never dropped their phone even once. I am also the type of paranoid person that immediately after opening the box on a new phone safeguards it in a case and a screen protector. I recently sent in two iPhones to Gazelle. AN older iPhone X and an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Both were in absolutely flawless and pristine condition. They both looked brand new with no marks, scuffs, or scratches . About a week after Gazelle received them they claimed "We found that the device has more than the acceptable amount of scratches." which was complete BS. They reduced my offer from $674 to $508 and hoped I would just bite the bullet. I didn't. They are sending it back to me but are using the absolute slowest meths possible with an estimate of 7 to 10 days. Avoid Gazelle!"
