Opaque and inflexible policy; Ended Up with more than $100 less than expected
"Don't get your hopes up about how much you'll get. My iPhone 11 Pro showed minor wear and tear consistent with using the phone for a year--it was always protected in a case and generally looked excellent for a used phone. Maxback's evaluation criteria subdivides different "types" of wear--minor signs of wear on the screen and on the side of the device are considered two separate types of wear--and if your phone exhibits any two signs of wear, no matter how severe, it is automatically assessed as "FAIR", which pays $132 less than a device graded as "GOOD". They sent a picture purportedly showing the two "types" of wear on my phone (note, it could've been any black iPhone 11 Pro) and my only options were to accept the FAIR assessment or ship the phone back to me and figure out another option. Criteria wasn't transparent and the impact of the rigid criteria was huge."
