"I ordered a replacement remote for my Magnavox HD/DVD recorder. I ordered a Philips-Magnavox NC003UD, for $10 less the the online alternative. My sales receipt stated this exact product. However, when the unit arrived, it was an aftermarket product with buttons different than the original remote. I returned it for a refund, and ordered the exact replacement from Replacement Remotes in N.C."

Bate and switch business practice
"The online retailer will display a picture of the original OEM manufacturers remote for the TV model and indicate that this is what they will send you. But they will send you an imitation remote that is often missing buttons for features on your old remote. They will include a letter in your package to the effect of sorry your remote is discontinued here is an imitation that should work just as well and can return if it doesn't. But this is not disclosed before you order or before they ship. The imitation remote did not include two necessary buttons to operate my TV model. The return process is easy but it takes time and the customer is responsible to pay for the return"

"Electronic Adventure advertised the ORIGINAL remote control for my Sanyo TV which was remote model GXDB, and that is what I ordered. Instead they sent another model that functions, but is not the original remote control model for a total cost of $32.90. This is false advertising and says nothing good about the integrity of this company. You will probably want to AVOID this company and go thru Ebay instead, because you can find almost like new models that are truly ORIGINAL, and for about $22 total."

"My dog ate my remote and I tried finding a replacement at Walmart but all they had were universal remotes. Luckily I came upon this website and they did have my original remote. I was really impressed with the service as I had my new remote within a few days. Couldn't have had a better online experience."
