"Buyer Beware!
I purchased a new Sharp TV from Buy Squad and received a refurbished TV which was defective.
During the purchase process I asked the sales person several times if the unit was refurbished. Sales person informed me that the unit was new with zero hours and carried a 1-year warranty.
Three weeks after receiving the TV the screen went blank. I telephoned Sharp Technical Support; whom informed me of two points:
1. TV was originally sold by Best Buy in October, returned by customer to Best Buy as the product was defective (same problem, blank screen)
2. Warranty for TV was 30 days; not the 1-year Buy Squad quoted me
I telephoned Buy Squad and informed them that they had sold me a defective refurbished TV. I was informed by the customer service person Mark, that the unit would be replaced with a new unit. After multiple telephone calls, all Mark did was schedule repair service, not replacement of the TV; which I had informed him multiple times was unacceptable.
Finally the TV was returned to Buy Squad and refund was issued, a process which took the better part of a month to accomplish and cost me additional money to resolve."
