Deceptive Advertising on Dell Replacement Power Supply
"CPU Medics advertises the Dell D525AF-01 I needed for my Dell Studio XPS 9100. I ordered it online to the tune of about $150. However, the tech called me to say that they really don't have these power supplies, as they can only get what is pulled and tested from old systems. Instead CPU Medics pulled a "bait-and-switch" wherein they "suggested" and then delivered an inferior Flextronics 475W PSU that retails for about $80 or less. As I needed the PSU, I accepted it, plugged it in and can say that it sort of works -- system powered up and runs but I get a steady amber power light -- which apparently indicates that the PSU is not delivering all of the power needed for the system or some of its components. I'm obviously concerned about its reliability. I will install a new, up to date PSU at my earliest convenience. So, only two stars for the product and their deceptive advertising tactics."
