sold store credit as gift card
"I wanted to buy Walgreen gift cards to pay for my prescriptions in order to save on my healthcare costs. I checked with Walgreens to see if I could pay my prescription copay with a gift card and they said 'yes', but I could not use a "duanereade' store credit. - So I bought was was advertised as a gift card from them and when I got it it was a store credit, which I could not use.
I called to complain & they said they have a disclaimer that you cannot use a gift card to purchase, among other things, prescriptions. I told them that I saw that disclaimer but that Walgreens WILL accept gift cards to pay for prescriptions but they will not accept store credit on the duanereade card.
Told them that if they listed the product correctly as a duanereade card with store credit on it I would not have bought it, but they mislead me and other customers by listing it as a gift card. They could not have cared less."
