"I purchased a new set of wheels for my vehicle in September 2023. The wheels comprised of 3 separate P/N’s to complete the set, wheels, wheel centers and lug nuts. Wheels and lug nuts were in stock, wheel centers were indefinitely back ordered.
I followed up about once every couple months at first, then about once every three months and there was no progress on the back order.
I called mid June 2024 I was told the centers were still on back order. After pressing the CSR to please check the my order number and the P/N to be sure, he found that they were back in stock at the dealer I ordered from.
Since it had been so long since I ordered the centers I was told Toyota cancelled my order with no notification or update. Zero correspondence. I sat on my $1,000+ wheels until June when I had to buy the centers I had already paid for (the initial order placed a hold on my account, when the order was cancelled, the hold was released so the funds never actually left my account).
I ended up buying the wheel centers again and went to the dealer to pick up my order, the dealer only had 4 centers in stock and they were most certainly the stock that filled my initial order. The pick tag showed that they had sat at the dealer since March 2024. Pretty disappointing that the order sat at the dealer for 3 months until I called and did the dealers post sale due diligence.
All in all, it was a breakdown in communication and I got left holding the bag."
