"October 22nd Microsoft officially launched Windows 7. Those of us that skipped terrible Vista finally had an upgrade path we could take after Windows XP. Lenovo took advantage of the Windows 7 release, and advertised a Windows 7 launch of there own, with special sale prices on new laptops that would take advantage of all the great things Windows 7 has to offer. Not only that, but Lenovo worked with MS to specially tweak these Windows 7 laptops, and called this Windows 7 Enhanced Experience. The Lenovo Y550 was one of these special laptops. Great. Sign me up! A long month later, the laptop arrived. It turns out that it was all a big lie. There never was a Windows 7 laptop or EE. They instead took all the old Vista stock they had left in China, slapped a Windows 7 sticker on the outside, and shipped them. 1000's were dubbed by Lenovo. All received the same as me, a Windows Vista laptop with a Windows 7 sticker. Even the Bios was still set at Windows Vista (SLIC 2.0). The solution to them was after a couple more weeks, when they finally actually had the stuff to sell Windows 7, you could send your laptop back to have it updated by them, or wait for them to send you re-imaging DVDs about 4 more weeks after this time. They also noted that because these Y550's were old Vista laptops, they wold never be able to release a Bios update to bring the laptop up to Windows 7 SLIC 2.1. What you bought is what you get. Luckily for me, as a MS tech, I already had several retail versions of Windows 7, and was up and running in a short time. But now that I have used this laptop for a few weeks with Windows 7, I see that besides all the continued screw-ups by Lenovo, it really is a pile of junk anyways. The screen has to be one of the worst I have seen, with no viewing angle accept dead on. Many reports of these being shipped with bad batteries. This thing is heavy compared to other brands. I bought it for the wife to replace an older laptop, and the poor quality and feel was the first thing she mentioned. There is much more, but I get angrier every time I think of all that I have had to go through with Lenovo so far, so will stop here. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!"

"Ordered a clearance closeout new Honda Womens CBR leather jacket at a price too good to be true. Shipping was very fast, and product was exact same as new full retail, for 1/4 the price. All tags and wrappings factory, and indeed brand new. Everything with order went well."

"edited with update: Ordered common headlight bulb, Osram Silver Star H4, on Feb 10 2009. They shipped the order "MAY 14th 2009", or more than 3 months after ordering, with no communictaion after initial order was placed. That is enough to show how terrible they operate a business. Original review below. 20 days and still waiting for bulbs. I needed them very fast, so I used USPS 2-3 day Priority Mail. Received an email same day as order was placed, 7 to 10 days before shipping. Have kept checking website and product still shows up with no warning of not being in stock. Apparently they do not stock items, so no real time inventory. Also, no email support, all questions or changes must occur by a toll phone call during limited business hours. No 800 number to cancel or check status. No web access to pending or prior orders. No replies to their emails allowed. They allow you to place a new order online or by 1-800 number, then they want nothing more to do with it. Will update if items arrive or if story changes. Prices are average, so better to shop elsewhere from places that have common items in stock. Too many good places to choose from to put up with service based on 1970's business models. I would hate to see the hoops you need to go through if you actually receive an item that turns out to be wrong or defective. Zero semi-modern customer service."

"Ordered 100% compatible Epson High Capacity ink. Received old stock that is well known as NOT compatable with newer Epson's. Also 4 or the 12 cartridges were low capacity. This was not what I ordered. They took a week to respond. Wanted to give in store credit after I ship back on my dime. Still fighting them for a refund two weeks after starting process. I've used them a lot in the past because of low prices, but now that I see how the handle issues. Update. After many emails, refund is now pending."

"Unbelievable. Don't know how they can do it, but somehow they do. Sixteen bucks for new 128 meg stick for use in old toshiba laptop, shipped free across the country. Had it in 3 days. Mem tested perfect. It does not get any better than these guys for speed and price of a quality product."

"Ordered Logitech Bluetooth headsets. Received the headsets loose in a bag with large warning stickers stating "Sold As-Is, NO WARRANTY". Nothing was mentioned on website about these being cheap rejects. These headsets are known for breaking, so never would have purchased if they had told the truth about this version being As-Is rejects. One of the units will not take a charge. Price was only about 10% less than retail boxed currently goes for. Feel ripped off. Updated Feb 2009. Looking through my old reviews to update. All these headsets broke within a few weeks. Pure junk. You will have better luck shopping local garage sales then buying from these guys."

"Great service! I ordered several parts based on what I "thought" I needed, and didn't ask for any help. Turned out some would not work with my application, and after inquiring with Monster tech support, Monster quickly exchanged parts for those better suited, plus gave me a boatload of tips to make sure the job was done right. Saved me a bunch of money by not having to do the job twice. Updated Feb 2009. 2 and a half years later and all still working great!"

"Ordered VGA2 - Vermiculite, that was supposed to be in stock. Was charged on credit card same day. Inground pool was at the constuction stage where I needed product within 2 weeks. 5 days later the "two more weeks" email thing started. Weeks, and several phone calls later, it is on it's way from Florida to there warehouse in NJ(?), and will then be sent back to me in Florida. Since it is way over due, why not ship direct? 2 more weeks, and still not ready. 2 more weeks and they now say I cancelled it and they gave it to someone else, so I would need to re-order it again, and it would be two more weeks. Too funny. Enough is enough, and I really did cancel after hearing this story. They never had product, never intended on getting product, and just used stall tactics as long as possible while they used my money for other things. Later the same day that I ordered Vermiculite, I also placed an order for Zeobest. It too was listed as in stock and available. At least with this product they sent me a backorder notice right away, saying it is on factory backorder for at least 6 months. I called "in the swim", and they laughed about factory backorder, because there was no factory backorder, then sent out the common item (that most places keep in stock) the next day."

"Ordered on August 6th, order # 101522. Was told shipping from Georgia to Florida would take 1 to 6 days. Was charged for ink that is not in stock and was not shipped. After waiting more than 2 weeks, send out emails that went unanswered. A few days later, they finally responded to one email with a lame excuse that they have too much business, so delays until August 22nd, and they promised to notify when shipped. More than 3 weeks after ordering the 1 to 6 day quoted time and nothing. It's now the 30th, and no notification, and again no replies to email. They only accept PayPal, and PayPal has a 30 day limit on disputing orders. While waiting for my $1 to arrive, I ran out of ink. Tried Tyler Martin for $1.40 each and they responded like a company is supposed to. Had Tyler Martin ink within a week. I could have dealt with Monsterinkjets if only they kept customers updated with emails. Update. Finally received ink. I think they were trying to get one over on the post office, but post office must have found out. Was labled USPS Media Mail, but Media Mail was crossed off, and now shows postage due of $3.71 which we paid. So much for free shipping. Ink was the same as Tyler Martin, and good quality with good expiration dates."

"Ordered two 400w power supplies to replace old 250w supplies. Very poor quality. One didn't have enough power to power PC that used to have a 250w supply. Other 400w did power old PC, but voltage outputs with the 400w were less than the old generic 250w put out. Unacceptable low 5v line. these behave more like 150w supplies. Defective unit was promptly replaced, at my return shipping cost, so these cheap supplies saved me nothing."
