Such a great site is sorely missed
"My own experiences with Hastings were always amazing. I started ordering from them online in 2010, placing hundreds of orders until they closed in 2016. I bought close to 300 books, mostly manga and graphic novels, for as low as $1.40 each. Those prices are unheard of today, barely 6 years later. I've actually looked up a few of the series to see prices over $20 on ebay from other sellers. And speaking of that, Hastings would sometimes do 3 for $30 deals that INCLUDED BOXED SETS. They always honored my purchases, too. One of the best deals I've ever found online was getting 3 copies of The Sandman complete set for $30 and selling them for $140 each on ebay. Oh yes, shipping was always free.
Hastings was a great company. It was a shame to see them go. Hundreds of orders without issue. My only regret is not buying more from them when they were still around."

"Buying from this site is very questionable. The administrators taut their ineffable rules over the site like they can't be broken, which couldn't be further from the truth. You buy "Coins" (1 coin is worth $1) in groups of 5. Sellers have to pay out of pocket for shipping.
And coins CAN'T be cashed in for money.
Say you want a game that's listed at 20 coins, so you buy $20 worth and "buy" the game. The seller has to acknowledge the trade, so you're not SURE you'll get the game. You just have to wait. The seller can CANCEL the trade on his/her own, or they can wait four days for the sale to CANCEL automatically. About 25% of all listings are from sellers who will fail to ship the game.
Reasons I've gotten for failing to ship a game: I was out of town, it's a holiday, I didn't realize I had to pay shipping, price was too low, sellers that never log in after listing a game, etc. So if your trade gets cancelled and you can't find another game, you are effectively OUT $20. That $20 is an investment, and you have to let it sit there.
Even if you do get the game, there are no strict guidelines on how a physical game can be listed. Someone can list a copy of Bravely Default for the 3DS as "Like New" but it's actually cartridge only. You buy it for 30 coins ($30) and get only the cartridge in the mail. You can't dispute it and get your money back. The best you can do is send negative feedback. And you're out $30 for a cartridge only game.
So tell me, HOW are you getting a good deal on a game if the price might be too low, you might get a game that's not in the condition it was listed in, or you don't even get the game? It's like playing the lottery.
It's also a cutthroat website for selling. Other sellers will complain about you to the website Administrators, who typically side with the person complaining and will deactivate your account for disagreeing with them. This website is run by two brothers and the older brother's wife, all of whom show favoritism to their friends. If you do something wrong, they will just remove your account and you will lose all of the money you sunk into it.
And as a seller, you also get the buyers who just steal from you. Say you're a legit seller, and you sell someone a "Like New" copy of Bravely Default for 30 coins. You send the game ($2.xx out of your pocket for shipping), but then they NEVER say they received it. What do you do? The value is less than $50, so you can't take legal action. Site administrators will not intervene and give you the other person's coins. And that means you LOSE your copy of Bravely Default, you LOSE the $2.xx it costs to ship, and you LOSE the 30 coins.
Why would you bother with such a risk? There is a topic on the forums dedicated to people who have been scammed in such a way. It happens a lot on this website.
I was a member during their beta testing, and had made over 500 transactions on the site. Another seller reported a listing I had labeled as a physical copy that was actually a Steam key. I told Brandon, the site administrator, that I would write the code down and send it via mail. He disabled my account instead.
In summation, you are never guaranteed anything from this site. You can get scammed by buyers, sellers, treated unfairly by administrators, invest your time and money into the process, and come out with what? Games that you bought for roughly the same amount as GameStop or ebay? At least eBay has proven methods that are backed by Paypal and refunded with real cash money.
Stick to eBay. Skip this worthless site."
