"I run a busy dance studio and most of my students pay me by check and in many cases they pay me for the entire year with post dated checks. I used to have to manually keep record of all these payments which was a time consuming task. Also, since some of the checks are post dated, it used to be difficult to keep track and ensure that the checks were deposited on time. And then my life changed when I discovered IdScan for Checks!
I purchased the IdScan for Checks a few months ago from the ScanShell Store. This amazing product from Card Scanning Solutions is a check scanner that scans checks with speed and accuracy and provides you with the check's high resolution image which can then be saved to an image file. The check's data information is also saved to a text file. Having both the image of the check as well as the data available has made my admin a breeze. I can easily identify student’s checks and keep detailed information of who paid what.
The IdScan for Checks uses Magnetic Ink Character Recognition so it is able to read the check’s MICR line and provide me with the check number, routing number and account number and the best part is that all the extracted info can be exported to any application, email and the web. I am now able to email this information to my accountant for his records and to my assistant who handles the deposit of the checks.
I think the best advantage is that my bus-powered USB ScanShell 800NR check image scanner is small and lightweight and it connects to my laptop USB port and does not require a power supply. This means that I can scan payments as soon as I receive them in the dance studio.
