"AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE! Ordered a Banksy print but it arrived damaged. Got a response the next morning that a replacement would be mailed out FREE OF CHARGE, and that I wouldn't have to mail the original, damaged piece back. I will DEFINITELY be purchasing more from these guys!"
"Bought a wire harness that was listed as IN STOCK and ready for immediate shipping. Received no shipping notification within a week so I emailed asking if it had shipped. Was told "Item out of stock." Not even an apology for the inconvenience. I wouldn't have mind if either 1) item was clearly labeled as out of stock or 2) next business day notification that the item was out of stock. Instead I had to wait around a week cluelessly as to where my item was. I was understanding for a bit because it was Memorial Day weekend, but still.
I replied to their email saying I had to push my install back because of their crappy service. Their reply? "You can cancel your order if you want." Once again, not even a simple apology or offer to upgrade to faster shipping (which numerous other companies have done so for me because of stuff like this). On top of all that, they charged me $15 for shipping a small wire harness via UPS Ground. Total rip off.
Will never shop here again. What a mistake.
In response to Autotoys' follow-up:
1). You were NOT the only one who had this item in stock, nor the cheapest. I could have purchased this from three other vendors, or had my install shop directly order it, which in retrospect, is what I should have done.
2). I didn't cancel my order because at that point it had been OVER A WEEK SINCE I ORDERED. I was already forced to delay my install so it would have made zero difference.
3). There are no "UPS sur-charges" involved in this shipment; I live in an urban city with a million+ other people. Furthermore, I purchased a double DIN head unit from New York via UPS Ground and guess how much that cost to ship? $6.24. Additionally, I have shipped hundreds of items via UPS, FedEx, USPS, and DHL, and perfectly understand how shipping charges work.
4) What does free shipping for orders above $100 have to do its anything? 99.9% of companies offer something like this. Moreover, that doesn't negate ridiculous handing fees. Also, please note: I never claimed your shipping and handling fees were hidden; I purchased from you because of your surprising generally positive reviews, not to save a quick buck.
The bottom line is you need to improve your communication with customers and take a lesson in customer service."
