"I have bought these types warranties for years from different places only to be told we don't cover X or Y if and when the item broke. Since most items today are cheap I usually don't buy these warranties.
When I did buy computers I bought the Best Buy warranty or Square Trade. Since I figured cheaper than having to buy a new item. I had a camera, Best Buy took 4 weeks to tell me they couldn't fix it and they refunded my money but by then the model camera was no longer on sale so I was stuck without one.
I just happened to buy the item in my story at Tiger Direct and bought a Square Trade Warranty. I bought a re-manufactured ASUS Transformer w/Windows 8.1. When I got the tablet the machine would crash often. After a week it finally would not re-start again. I called Tiger Direct. They had me send the laptop to ASUS Repair Service. I did. Per the work order sent to me upon return of the item, they replaced the main board and something else. Well the thing would not connect to the WiFi and if it did it was slower than dial up. I made do using it for nothing but a presentation here and there playing from the Micro SD.
Finally I thought, You know it has not been a year yet Square Trade might be able to fix this. I never called them I did the entire return/repair process online. I went to the website, Filed the claim, Printed the Postage Paid Label for FedEx (When I sent it to ASUS I had to pay both ways). Dropped the package off and they got it in one day instead of two. Square Trade repaired the item and sent it back. They replaced the main board per the repair order. Total time they had it less than 2 days. Works great EXCEPT: I can't authorize Windows but per their web site I have to get my Key from ASUS and that has not been easy. I have been dealing with a guy named Pig.. Yep Pig..Pig_Zhu so the emails say.

"I ordered here was told they were 10 days behind. I knew this when I ordered it was on the website. Then after 10 days I contacted them and was told they would ship on 9/23/11. That date came and went still not laptop. Canceled the order and now waiting for a refund. I would RUN."
"Had a little problem with the order form but they took care of the probblem. I used 2nd day air and the order was shipped ASAP and got it on time. Would buy from again."
