"Mixed emotions about this order. First, I ordered the Sony DVD-500AX drive because their website said they had it in stock (and I had a bad experience with another vendor who said it was in stock). So I e-mailed them. 4 times. My first problem is that their website says that they respond to all e-mails within an hour. I never received a response to any of the e-mails I sent to 2 of the addresses off their site. So I called. I couldn't understand the receptionist, but after my 3rd call in, I was able to talk to someone who said (after I was on hold for a bit) that it was shipping out today, which it did. I was left with the feeling, though, that if I hadn't called, it wouldn't have shipped. Just my impression. The box arrived. I couldn't tell if it was wet at one time or not. The box just felt weird and was a little warped (it is cardboard, though). But all the parts were in there and I burned a DVD last night, so I'll assume all is well. My biggest reason for ordering through them (the price on the drive was average) was that noone had any in stock locally. That changed about 2 days after I placed the order. Just glad I didn't get bit."

"Received the motherboard yesterday. Looked like all the parts were there. Motherboard was the right one, as was the CPU and fan. Received it about the time I thought it was. Adequately packaged. Good job."

"Ordered a 50 pack of DVD-R (generic) and a 6-in-1 media reader. Items arrived about a week after I ordered them, but I didn't recieve my tracking number until the day before the items arrived (they had been in shipment for about 5 days, with a weekend included). 25 of the DVD-R had a spindle, the other 25 were just wrapped together. I'm guessing about 5 out of the 50 will be unusable. The price was right, however, and other than the minor glitches, not a bad experience."

"I will never use them again. I ordered the new Sony DVD burner from them. I find ComputerHQ through PriceWatch and they have the drive for $327, which is a great price. That was Friday. On Monday, I receive a message that says the drive is not in stock--which doesn't shock me because Sony is way behind on them. My first issue, though, was that they said it was in stock when I ordered it. My second issue was that they had already charged my credit card. The followed tradition is that you don't charge until you are ready to ship, so if you know the item isn't in stock, don't charge the card. All the big vendors follow that logic. So the e-mail from ComputerHQ said that it would be credited back to my card on the next statement "or two". Ridiculous. On a side note, I viewed the web page again this morning, and they say the drive is in stock and ships within 1-2 days. But it's $372. I wonder if just the $327 versions are out of stock? This seems to be a growing problem with many vendors. **Update 4/9/2003: While it only took them 10 minutes to charge my credit card (sarcasm noted), they credited my account two days after I cancelled my order, which is very reasonable. Still not going to buy from them again, but at least I got out reasonably unharmed**"

"Excellent customer service. They were able to correct *my* mistake on my order prior to shipment and adjust it to my satisfaction with no hassle. Awesome. Product arrived way too fast. I had a pretty case but nothing to put in it. But I got over it. Case was in great shape (one minor flaw), power supply installed properly, all the extra parts and stuff included. Great deal."
