"Unbelievably horrible expierence!! Made a phone purchase with TV Authority on 01/22/07. The Samsung HDTV that I ordered was stated by the sales person Stephanie Moist to be in stock at the time I placed the order. They claimed a guaranteed delivery window 1 month away as being 02/12/07 - 02/14/07. That seemed a little long but, I decided to ride it out since Stephanie said it might be sooner. Also, most importantly they charged my credit card on the day I ordered 01/22/07 which should have raised a red flag for me but, you live and learn, right? On 02/08/07 2 business days before delivery I checked the status of my order on the TV Authority website and noticed no change in the status,no tracking information,nothing different since the day I ordered. I called customer service and after a 50 minute wait on hold I found out that the TV I had ordered and was told that it was in stock at the time I ordered was actually on back order and they said that they could not tell me when I could expect shipment. That information resulted in a call to Stephanie who ACTED surprised to hear that information. I asked if I could upgrade to a different model if it was in stock and could be shipped sooner. She offered an upgrade to the latest model of the same TV at no extra charge and said that she would get with the distrubution center for availability and get back to me on 2/14/07. She did not get back with me on 2/14/07 but did respond to an e-mail on 2/15/07 stating that the original TV I had ordered was in stock and would be sent out to me with no delay. She wrote that I would have tracking information by 02/016/07 and delivery no later than 02/23/07. I am writing this on 02/28/07 and have yet to recieve any tracking information. I have tried sales people Stephanie, Cambyrn with e-mails that I know they read because I recieved the read reciepts with no respones. I have left several voice mails with the customer service manager James Agiesta with no respone. I have spoken with Nicole Bisanti in Customer Service several times and have recieved nothing but excuses and one fact that the TV has not been shipped. She says she is in contact with the distibution center daily but has no idea why the TV has not been shipped and does know when it will be shipped. All I ever wanted was an update on the status of my order. This should not be asking too much. Should it? This by far the worst expierence I have ever had bar none when making a purchase. I too am in awe that this company is allowed to stay in business when it is clearly a scam. I have contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges and start stop payment proceedings in order to get a refund. I will also be contacting the BBB of the greater LA area to file a complaint. I am taking steps to insure that everyone I can possibly alert knows DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH TV AUTHORITY. They have a legitimate looking site and they are very helpful and friendly at first contact but, BEWARE they will charge your credit card and then all customary services will cease. Even thier customer service manager obviously could care less about customer service. I can only hope that I can get my money back and put this expierence behind me."
