"Staples participated in the HP Touchpad firesale. They let me know about this online: "available in store or online". At the time of the advertising appeared, the item was out of stock. Fair enough, if they don't have it, what can they do? OK it is falsely advertised, but the sale came like a storm, understandable. However, Saturday night the stock appeared online and was available until sold out 5 minutes later. I placed my order during this 5 minutes. Next day I am informed, the item is out of stock and the order can't be fulfilled. That is all they said. I sent them two emails asking about the situation, the never answered. Now I understand, Staples has so called "phantom stocks" appear every Saturday during the night for items not available in their warehouses. Bad policy if you ask me. If you don't have anything to sell, don't advertise it and don't show it "in stock" online ever. But if you are willing to do this, at least make some effort to allocate the already sold stock somehow from the company who makes the product (like Datavis did during the sale... heck, companies still trying their best to allocate those Touchpads. Staples? Does nothing, Bravo!) Telling customers the very next day of a sale, that the item they ordered is not available is not cool. Make an effort Staples if you screw up something!"
