"Well, I wish I'd checked here before I bought from pronet.
If they had given me what I asked for, I would have been
satisfied. But, they gave me the opportunity to deal with them
on a personal level......and that is the LAST time......This is my
story....It should serve as a warning...
They do NOT care about you.....Or right and wrong....
I bought a pc kit, used the drop down choices and nailed down
the order for my 13 year old's PC.
A Biostar motherboard , celeron, etc...
I added the 32AW SRS sound, a better case, cd burner, and a cd drive, etc..
Well, I went to show my son the order process and what I bought him
from the site. When I got out of it, an e-mail was in my inbox confirming
my order. This was 3 days later.. So, I tried calling to see if a cookie allowed
them to repeat the old order (this turned out NOT to be a problem. Everytime
I go to the site, I get the same confirming e-mail - dumb) -
no answer with the phone call... several times (weekend).
So, I wrote them about this, stating that if this was a 2nd
order, I don't want it. I DO want the first. I gave my phone number, and
waited. Nothing. 2 days later, I got home from work and saw an email from
pronet, saying to call them, and another saying that my order shipped.
I didn't call, since it shipped, and if there was a problem, surely they would
have called the numbers I left in my e-mail and in my order.
Within 2 days, the shipment arrived, and it had an ACORP motherboard,
with dual processor support, and raid , but NO sound card.
I called the number from the email, and they said that they could no longer
get the BIOSTAR mainboards, so gave me a more expensive one, and
subtracted the sound card to make up for it.... They said to call Tech support
for anything else to do with it.
Well, I did call. They refused to send me the $10 or 20 sound card, and when
I suggested returning it and undoing the deal, he issued me an RMA# to
return it all. GREAT customer service.
The website STILL lists the BIOSTAR as available, and he just blew it off,
saying it takes time to update the page.
Well, I'm sure my 13y/o kid would be impressed with the ability to have,
not 1, but 2 processors, and if I buy him another hard drive, we could
protect all his important stuff with raid. AND, I know that all of this is far
more important to him than the few sounds that his games annoy him with.
So much for internet / mail-order.
I'll probably buy a sound card, and just try hard not to drive to Solon, Ohio to
throttle these idiots.
This is all I can do.
Again,,,,,If you get what you ordered, it's OK, if not - you get to deal with jerks.
My advice: BUY ELSEWHERE - DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PLACE IN ANY WAY.
Good luck!"
