Don't buy from wmjmarine and Minn Kota
"Purchased a minn kota riptide ulterra trolling motor last month for $2800US. Suddenly the order became out of stock and a back order and the delivery date clashed with my family tour to hawaii. UPS sent the item to my garage and upon I back home I found the plastic protection cover in the lower unit was broken. I took videos and sent to wmj in which the CS told me that that was for protection only and just a temporary parts not in use. The motor can be operated without problem. I then sent it to Hong Kong and installed in my boat. I found it malfunctioned and could not be used. I called the CS and told me that no refund could be made after 25days of purchase. What a riduclous! I called Minn Kota and they asked me to repair the motor in Taiwan. I spent a week of time and spent hundred dollars to make distance calls but finally rejected by Minn Kota US as the general manager Dave Duffin disapproved of the repair works. Minn Kota CS told a lie saying that Taiwan repair center refused to accept the order. When I provided all evidences to them, they never replied my email again. Terrible experiences for buying from wmjmarine and minn kota. Finally WMJ called me and agreed to refund. But requested me to send back to US within 30days. I just checked with all couriers, the minimum charge would be $7000 US. I asked WMJ whether I can have 45days or more so that i can send it back by sea freight. THEY original box was damp and mole upon delivery. I have thrown it away. How to return it with the original box. THEY INSISTS that "NO". Very harsh, VERY IMPOLITE.... NEVER BUY AGAIN!!!!"
