Awful Company
"I ordered an electric stove heater from Amazon and the company that sells it is Electric Fireplaces Direct. They have a storefront on Amazon. The total amount for this little heater was over $200 which is a lot for me because I am retired and live on a fixed income. However, I needed a heater. The heater arrived and straight away I saw a big hole in the center of the box on the front side. I opened the box and sure enough, the heater was damaged. The glass on the front was scratched. When I removed the heater from the box completely I discovered more damage. The top right corner was very damaged and bent. The underside was damaged as well. Of course I contacted the company and sent photos of the damage. I stated to them that I didn't want a refund. I wanted a replacement heater. Well, they handled this request and shipped out a brand new heater and it arrived safely. No damage. This morning I received an email from this very same company with a list of things they expect me to do. Nine of them. Whoever sent this to me seems to believe that I want a refund. I already have the replacement heater so what the ?????? In their list of demands they want me to buy insurance from a shipping company and pay to have the damaged heater sent back to the company. No. Not going to happen. If they want their damaged heater back they will have to pay for return shipping and I told them so. They want me to pack the damaged heater in the original box it arrived in but THAT isn't going to happen either. The box was absolutely destroyed. Instead, I put the damaged heater into the box that the replacement heater arrived in. Simple solution. This company also wants me to print out all sorts of stuff for them. Paperwork for the heater, shipping label and an invoice plus use clear tape to seal the box. I don't own a printer nor clear tape and I told them that as well. They need to have a shipping company of their choice bring a label to return the damaged item with. They also told me to drive to a FedEx or UPS drop-off location and drop off the damaged heater. Not going to happen. This morning's email arrived AFTER someone else from this company contacted me last week. This particular employee is the one who said they would send out a replacement heater and they did. This person also told me to just sit the damaged heater (in a box) on my front porch and it will be picked up. It absolutely drives me to madness when companies don't communicate with each other. Don't they put the customer's information into their system so anyone working in the ordering department can read it????? This isn't the first time I have an encounter like this with a company who sells on Amazon. It happens more than you realize. I am happy with the electric heater stove. It's nice and keeps my office warm. It has fake logs and a realistic flame but I usually keep that turned off. I am happy with the person who I dealt with originally and handled the exchange professionally. I am just baffled however that I received such a ridiculous email this morning with all the demands. There was no person's name on it either. Good thing."

Here's Your Sign!
"I recently ordered three large metal signs from MySecuritySign company and am very pleased. In fact, I was very surprised at how large they are and how well they are made. I have issues with some of the people in my neighborhood who seem to enjoy taunting my dog and trying to feed him treats. My dog is not stranger-friendly and he barks at people he doesn't know. I have caught an adult neighbor trying to feed my dog treats without asking my permission and have warned him several times to stop. He pretended he didn't understand English. Thankfully this guy moved away. I caught two grown men standing very close to my gate one day trying to get my dog and my son's dog to come to them. One man had a small child in his arms. They were from out of town visiting my neighbor. Both dogs were barking at the men of course. I told the men to get away from my gate and the man with the child did but the other goon continued standing there staring at the dogs like he was in some kind of weird trance. I was angry and asked him what was he doing. In his southern drawl he said, "I'm starin' at yer dawgs". I told him if he didn't get away from my gate I would open it and he could get a REALLY good look at the dogs in his face! The guy left. I have a big barking dog for a reason. To protect my property and my house AND me. The woman who lives directly behind me is watching her grand children for the summer. They were playing out in her yard and when I let my dog out they immediately began calling my dog over to them as kids will do. I watched them through my porch screen and yelled, "NO NO NO!!!" The little girl said, "does he bite?" I said yes but my dog has never bitten anyone ever and he's nine years old. There is always a first time. The little girl moved away from the fence but her little brother didn't. He got closer to the fence and stuck his hand though it. I yelled at him to get away from the fence. My dog was nowhere near the fence. I put up the three signs I bought and the signs read: "DO NOT TEASE THE DOGS-KEEP AWAY FROM FENCE". There is one that faces the back of one house directly behind me, one that faces the two-story apartment house next to them and one that is attached to my gate that faces the street. These signs can very well be seen as I said, they are large, the text is large, the colors are very bold. I am about to foster a big dog and I'm sure whoever sees her are going to want to pet her. I'll be outside with both dogs so we'll see how many people heed the sign warning."
