"100% Satisfaction Guarantee" is actually maybe 50%
"Ordered high end sheer shades for two rooms - great experience ordering, good price, good product going strong four years later. Then, redecorated another large room and went to order another set, discoverede more economical loine that seemed to be equivalent to what was previously ordered. I confirmed this with the sales rep and ordered, but when they arrived I saw that they were not at all the same either in quality or in function, i.e. you couldn't have "sheerness" with the shades partially drawn, only when fully drawn.
Blinds.com agreed to remake the shades, this time to the exact specs as my prior order from 3 years before, for the additional upcharge, of course. We went over the specs from the earlier order in detail. But when delivered, I found that the headrail was huge, way out of proportion to the delicacy of the shades themselves, not at all like the ones from the earlier order. I called again, still reaching for 100% satisfaction as promised, only to be told that I can't expect shades ordered 3 years apart to be exactly the same, and good bye to you! So they are now installed, they look pretty topheavy, and they stick out much farther from the window recess than the previous ones, and, really, good bye to me."
"Bought two replacement batteries for an Olympus camera, advertised as having specs equal to the Olympus original. Discovered that they lasted about a quarter as long, in fact, and after two months now they barely hold a charge at all. No reply to my email. Waste of money"
"Purchased battery for camera, arrived a few days later DOA, wouldn't take a charge, was told to send it back. I was credited for purchase, but they deducted 20% "restocking fee" & I had to pay to ship it back. I've never heard of anyone charging a restocking fee for a defective item; what're you going to do, sell it to someone else? "This is our policy" was the answer. Frankly, it's my policy not to do do business with disreputable merchants, so this one's out."
"Fraudulent, mendacious losers.
Sent in frames for repair as per their website 3 months ago; after one week I was told they were ready to ship. Since then I have made 15 calls; mostly I was only able to leave messages, unreturned of course. The few times I actually connected with someone I was told they were ready and would be shipped imminently.

Vendor accepted return but could not replace with legitimate software, would not refund return shipping."
"These guys are reputable, their customers largely professional, and for the most part their prices are as good as you're going to get from a real retailer with a real address with real employees who use their real names to your face. I'm a professional and I've been buying gear and supplies from Unique for several years and have always been treated right.
The only downside, and the reason I no longer buy serious equipment here, is their return policy - which is store credit only, and store credit which expires in 6 months, regardless for the reason for the return. Compare this to the no-questions-asked policies of the established Manhattan photo retailers."
