"I ordered a 100 pack of 80 minute Taiyo Yuden CD-Rs (http://www.cdrplanet.com/cdrplanet/tyd80sibls-600-100.html) for $32 plus $4.93 Fedex Express Saver shipping. I had never bought media online before, but when I got my new burner (Plextor Premium, great drive btw) I found out I needed better stuff than what's sold locally for the highest quality burns at the highest speed. I read up on different brands and always heard good things about Taiyo Yuden, among others. I ended up buying their media because they seem to have a great price/quality ratio. I decided to try CDR Planet because of their good reviews here and competative pricing, within a dollar or two of every place else I found (including shipping on both sides).
My initial impression after ordering actually wasn't good, since my order went out of stock right when I was ordering it (in stock when I started ordering, but out of stock by the time I finished). My main initial concern about ordering media online was how long it would take me to get them since I was just about out of CD-Rs and HD space, and waiting for a new shipment to arrive was exactly what I was afraid of.
All's well that ends well though in this case. After about a week I e-mailed them asking if they had an ETA, and by the time I checked my mail again the next night they had replied saying they expected the shipment in that day, and another one saying it was shipped and with the tracking info. Fedex even got it to me overnight (PA to MD). The CD-Rs were as good as I had hoped, and apparently were packaged well as well. I'm no expert on packaging, but they've been consistantly producing full speed (with PowerRec on) high quality recordings, so they don't seem to have been damaged.
I'll definately buy Taiyo Yuden from CDR Planet again and recommend them to others."
