"After a horrible experience with a company called eCost, which sold me a Westinghouse 42" TV for a very good price plus $50 shipping and a six month warranty and never delivered, I kicked myself and went to Costco online, where the exact same item was being sold for TEN BUCKS MORE..... lousy ten bucks!.... with a two year warranty to boot.
Costco was always my preferred vendor when I lived in a city that had one of their stores. Now, I'm old and in the boonies. No Costco, but they're online with the same great prices and service. I got my TV three days after ordering it, and am totally happy with both Costco and my Westinghouse LCD TV. To sum up: I should have gone to Costco right away, instead of wasting time with a bunch of incompetents."
"I ordered a 42" LCD TV and received a SHIPMENT confirmation a day later (11.12.08) from them. The UPS tracking number was not recognized by UPS, and when the order did not arrive a few days later, I called eCost. I was told there had been a mistake and the customer service person I spoke to would clear it up and call me again with a correct tracking number. I never heard from her again. A week later, I called the same customer service number, got someone else, explained, waited on hold explained some more, waited, was then told it was a routig mistake by eCost (the credit card, meanwhile, had been charged with almost $700 for three or so weeks), and they would send me the new tracking number by email.I asked the customer service guy for his direct dial number so I'd be able to follow up, and he gave me a number that later turned out not to work. When, after a further week, I called again, a different person answered and promised to check the status of my paid transaction. He came back on the line after a while, laconically told me that I had canceled the order some days ago (not true: I needed the damn thing desperately now, as the long expected guests were due to arrive four days later and this was to be placed in their room) and the refund would be on my credit card within ten days. Which it was. No one ever said Sorry for dicking me around for three weeks, for lying, for making me pay interest for an item they advertised, I bought and they never delivered. All I got was the runaround by three very experienced Southeast Asian phone answerers who make a living from sounding helpful. eCost again? I'd rather eat glass."
