"Executive Summary: American Fast Floors is fantastic! Bryan gave me great customer service during every step. I highly recommend you do business with them if you are in the market for flooring. They erased all my doubts and concerns about doing business with an Internet-based flooring company. I would not think twice about doing business with them again. I wish I could give them 6 stars, that is how good they treated me. The Story: Just at 3 years ago, we started some major renovations on the house. One of those projects involved pulling the old carpet from different rooms, and replacing it with laminate flooring. Neither my wife or I like a lot of the stuff out on the market (too thin, too noisy, too smooth), but we did find a very nice laminate that was on the pricey side, but it really came closest to what we were wanting (real wood floors). This stuff from Bruce had the look and feel with its hand-scraped design. Because we are not made of money, we had to buy it in small lots when we got enough cash together. Not quite halfway through our acquisition of materials, we found out we were going to have a baby. As you can imagine, some things got put on hold. Fast forward to two weeks ago, finally feeling comfortable enough to get back on these projects. We had 9 cartons left after finishing one of the rooms. In my ignorance, I grab the paperwork from the local company I ordered from initially, and headed down to the store. Learned that the laminate that we had been using has been discontinued. It had only been discontinued about 6 months ago, but the only supply of it available in California was 2 cartons. My initial calculations told me I needed 15, this is not a good start. He informed me that he couldn't do anything but the 2 showing in the system, and my best bet was to try online dealers. To say that my initial web search for reputable companies that had a discontinued product buried somewhere in their inventory was disheartening would be an understatement. I can't tell you how many pages I saw with “no results” or “discontinued”. I am not re-carpeting the family room... This is the point were I found American Fast Floors. Saw the website, simple, not overly busy; I like it. What I really liked, they said they had the laminate I needed “in stock”. This wouldn't be the first site that said they had it, and did not when I inquired further. So, pulled the trigger, picked up the phone. A gentleman named Bryan answered the phone. I introduced myself and got to business giving him the SKU number and quantity needed. He said that his system was showing it in stock, not much, but more than enough for my needs. He got my email address, and he said he would double check. I didn't get the email the next day, and assumed the worst. However, later that day, I got a voicemail from him. So I called Bryan back, I told him that I didn't get the email, and his immediate reaction was, let him resend it from a different company domain, my mail server may be bouncing his emails since the company is so young. OK, not what I really wanted to hear but just go with it, got the email from his other domain, boom, there it is, the flooring I needed, enough to cover me, a higher price than what I was expecting, but under the circumstances, more than reasonable. Talking to Bryan found out some of this background, and I was asking him about both his current business and association with the other company. Come to find out, American Fast Floors is going to be the Internet arm of East Coast Flooring, his family's business for a number of years now. This is all making me feel a lot better, still a little shaky on the price, and I think everybody is gun-shy of companies like this just because of the horror stories on the web. Again, have faith, told the wife, we decided let's do it. Called Bryan back a few days later, in the mean time, he had located some at a Florida distributor as well with plenty of stock that he could get a better price on, and he was working out freight cost. This just keeps getting better. Final phone call that week, got him final measurements (actually wanted 18 cartons in case something very bad happened), and if he could order transition pieces to match as well. He ended up putting an order in directly with Armstrong for the transitions, and a formal quote for everything. I gave him the credit card. The next day he sent me an email with the freight tracking number and website. It would be at our door the following week. Just this Tuesday (this is only day 4 of shipping), got a call from the freight company, did have a small paperwork issue if the order was COD or Prepay. I called Bryan, he called me back telling me it had all been cleared up. They put the cartons in my garage the next day. Checked the model numbers on the boxes while I was unpacking the pallet, every box is perfect. We can't thank Bryan enough for helping us pull off what seemed almost impossible."
