"Ordered two items from Cowboystudio.com thru Amazon. One being an optical hotshoe slave for my camera flash. Granted the order was delivered very quickly and it was only about 10.00 item, but it was defective. I emailed the company immediately (thru Amazon) to find out how to return it to either get a refund or maybe try another (a friend has the same model and his works fine). I never heard a word back from them and had to go thru Amazon's A-Z claim guarentee process... Thanks to amazon for giving me a refund after I did not receive any reply from Cowboystudio on my email asking how to return it... I guess they were all too busy riding on the range to answer, regardless i will never do business with that outfit ever again."
"I had order things from Amazon before that were indirectly from Adorama, but this was my first (real) experience with Adorama. First I want to mention that I had a used Sigma lens I wanted to trade in on a wide angle lens. Adorama made it so easy: Emailed me an invoice and label, I packaged it up well, and sent it UPS... it was all insured by Adorama and I was told right up front it would take at least a week to 10 days to evaluate it. Then when it came time for the verdict, the price was very fair. I take good care of my equipment and still had the orignial box and papers that came with it. At one time I had one bozo company offer me 127.00 for this 18-200 lens plus an 18-55 and on top of that an almost new, Panasonic FZ7 Camera! Oooh what generosity! Adorama offered me $200.00 on just the 18-200 alone which was a very fair price since I paid $345.00 for it and it was like new. Bottom line if you have equipment you would like to sell/trade they are very honest and up front in my opinion.
I had returned their call when the lens was evaluated and yes, I was on the phone over a half hour... big deal. I wish people would get off how long they are on the phone waiting! If you dont have the time to wait, call at a time you DO! Do you honestly think a big company is just waiting around for little old you to place a flippin' order all day? Get off it...
So it was Friday and I left a message and I didnt expect to hear from anyone at least until the following Monday, but unexpectedly I got a call from "Jack" on that Sunday afternoon. "I didnt think you guys were open on weekends?" I said. He said "Oh just for you!"... I thought that was pretty funny and Im sure he was telling me the truth it was just for me ;-) Anyway, I asked him some questions on the two lenses I was thinking about and he helped me pick one and said I would have it by Friday. Ok so I check my online statement day by day and see no activity so no big deal I'll call them next week just to make sure the order is not lost,etc. Then I get the email its been shipped on Thursday and by Friday its on my door step... True to his word.
For people who read these reviews and shop online I'd like to give you two pieces of advice:
1. Don't order something at midnight on Saturday night from anyone and expect the tooth fairy to have it under you pillow in the morning. All people have lives (personal and professional) and they are not waiting for you to place an order during their REM stages. Shopping online makes things more convenient so you don't have to burn gas it doesn't necessarily mean speedy regardless of your shipping method. You want it now? Go to the store and buy it.
2. Don't grip at anyone at Adorama or anywhere else for trying to protect your credit by verifying your address and actual existence on this planet. As a victim of credit card theft I can tell you all they are doing is watching your backside. If it were the other way around and someone had stolen your card, you would be the first one to jump all over them for NOT verifying wouldnt you... its human nature so give them and everyone else a break for doing whats best for you and themselves...
I would definitely do business with them again... Thank you folks for a very pleasurable experience!"
