"I have always done my computer shopping at NCIX (Canada). They have good prices but if you need information on your order or talk to them. It is next to nil.
I placed my order on July 19, 2012. I have a motherboard that they said it was in stock (special order) and it would take 5-10 business days to ship it and they charged me right away.
I waited for 3 weeks before I called them. I was told it would be shipped last Friday. Today, I still do not have any news on it so I called them. I heard, 9,8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, (on queue) and I thought it was my turn. I was told to record my message. I thought it was a mistake, so I went back to the main menu and I started with 5, 4, 3, 2, again. I was told to record my message again. After 40 minutes, I was still not able to talk to anybody. If I had to record my message, why I had to wait 40 minutes?
I would reconsider to order a new computer for my friend now."
"I have ordered many items from Staples.com in the last few years and I was satisfied with their service.
But on November 9, 2002. I ordered 2 telephones from them. In their website, it said that there would be a $20 gift check if I order the telephone. So I ordered two. When I received the telephones, I didn't get the gift checks. So I called them, the first representative told me to go to my local store to talk to the store manager. I told him that in their website, it said nothing about that it was a mail-in offer or in-store offer. He finally told me to call the rebate center. And I found out that it is a mail-in offer that allows only 1 per customer/family/address. Even I am going to send in the rebate coupon, I can only get 1 check. And the representative said that they were sorry about that but there was nothing they could do. So I was misled by them to buy more than 1 phone.
And the first representative was kind of rude too."
