"I am an avid user of Cheaper Than Dirt until I discovered something recently. I was perusing their targets and found a set that seemed fun for a round of shooting with a friend. They are Birchwood Casety Target Games. The items ID#s are TARGET-400, TARGET-401, TARGET-402, TARGET-403, TARGET-415, TARGET-416, and TARGET-417. (The reason I list them is so you can check out the information yourself on the website.) There is no issue with the product itself, the issue is the shipping on these items and other items like them. If you were to purchase one set of targets from them as of 08/28/2015, the shipping shows the weight to be approximately 2.8 lbs. Which at the time is close to $5.50 for shipping, this is not the issue. When you put multiple of the same item in the cart and look at shipping, lets say 4 sets of these items, the weight jumps up to 11.22 lbs., which ended up costing $16.41. I doubted this was correct, after all how could 4 sets of the same targets weigh more than 10 lbs together. So I contacted the online customer service chat and spoke with a user that went by "Sam". I stated my concerns and Sam stated that it was the correct amount for shipping. Sam explained that it was calculated by weight and dimensions of the item. Sam then offered that if I call their 1800 number and ordered over the phone that they could do something, I didn't write down at the time, for the type of shipping "Stock Standard" or some such. Sam stated the shipping would be $8, half of the original shipping price. Then I asked Sam, shouldn't all customers be able to get the same price on these items in regards to shipping, and Sam again stated that it was the correct shipping amount, even though I was offered a cheaper, by half, alternative to the website shipping cost. This made me question their ethics in regards to prices on customers. If they are trying to make money that is fine, they are allowed to do that. However, if you claim to be "Cheaper that Dirt" but your shipping prices are inflated to cover the loss in item price, I find that to be unacceptable. If you are going to sell a product, do not gouge in the shipping price to entice purchasers to buy from you and hope they will over look the cost difference. If Cheaper than Dirt is willing to do this over targets, then that also makes me question what other products are they over inflating their weight so the customer pays more for shipping and they reap the added income from sales. Unacceptable "Cheaper than Dirt", shameful and disgraceful."
