"I hereby swear to NEVER buy from them again. Several years ago when they started you could find great stuff for 1/3 the price. In the past 5 years, and more-so lately, its just slightly discounted B-Stock junk.
They should be sued for claims of "refurbished". Their idea of "it works" seems to be a cursory once-over and a return policy (that BTW, doesn-t pay return postage).
Sometimes I just don't have the energy to return something, so I "Eat it". Like the DOA Roku-3 that I discovered "B-STOCK" label on. Like the solar lanterns that are so cheap looking I'd be embarrassed to mount. Like the robotic vacuum I'm now getting up the energy to return after reading how awful the reviews are (Woot-Offs don't give you time to research).
NEVER AGAIN!"
"I got 2 of the small powerful flashlights. Received the order in a timely manner. Product is very solid and powerful, as described. Its got this fisheye curved lens making the tight beam is defined.
I'd give it 5 stars except that it could be made simpler. It has 5 modes (high, med, low, rapid blind, SOS blink) and switching between modes is confusing and too easy to do unintentionally.
My teen daughter claims the blinking gives her a headache and she hits the ceiling every time it does it. Hey, I just turned it on; or I was searching for the low-power setting.
I got a set of 3 similar lights at Costco for $20 (same size and feel). They take 4 AAA batteries rather than Atomic Beam's 3 so the beam on the Costco one is marginally stronger (like, 5% stronger). The build of the Costco ones are good but possibly not quite as solid and I suspect the wouldn't survive a real beating nor probably be as reliable as the Atomic Beam.
So; I'm keeping the Atomic Beam ones in our cars for emergencies but I'm getting more of the Costco ones for everyday use."
"We ordered a 9-cell extended battery overnight.
It arrived on time and well packaged.
Gripe 1: Its a 6-cell battery. I already have a working 6-cell. I needed a 9-cell OVERNIGHT DELIVERY. They failed me.
Gripe 2: They don't send the same model as what's on the order. Suppose I researched the maker carefully?
Gripe 3: The 6-cell bat they did send seems cheap. It fits poorly and the writing on the battery itself says "FOR USE WITH HSTNN-I57C FAMILY OF COMPUTER PRODUCTS". The one I ordered is for HP Probook.
It's $90!!! Nearly the price of a genuine HP. If I wanted an el-cheapo, I'd pay $19.99 with some off-brand E-Bay or Amazon reseller.
Gripe 4: They didn't answer their phone. I listened to their on-hold music for 5 minutes then it hung up.
EDIT: Changed from 1-star to 2-stars. They sent me an RMA quickly (in response to my EMAIL complaint) with pre-paid shipping label label. We'll see how the refund goes and whether I have to fight for the $35 I paid for overnight 11AM delivery."
"We bought 12 Windows 7 Pro OEM licenses a month ago.
I am having trouble activating some of them. I called Microsoft. Turns out; some have been activated multiple times; at least 2 of those were activated prior to our purchase.
I cannot say if they have a bad supplier, if they are cheating everyone, or (more likely) Microsoft's activation process is chalk full of bugs.
I can say this; DiscountMountain was very quick to rectify the situation for me.
1. They gave an immediate refund for the 6 unused keys (at my request). We've decided to simply buy new machines rather than upgrading these old ones.
2. They gave replacement keys that are each Microsoft validated as "clean" for the other 6. They offered to refund them all, but I'd already spent too much time / effort and hopefully none of them will spontaneously deactivate. I'm sure if they do; they will back me up.
All this was done before Noon on the day I reported it to them.
Well done Discount Mountain for standing behind your sales."
"I ordered a $1400 used Dell 2950 server. Cancelled the order the next morning, before it was even processed (found a similar deal at a more professional store where I could get the OS pre-installed).
They still charged my credit card!!!
Fast forward 5 weeks. B of A credit card fraud department has finally pried the $1400 back from them. Their repeated "the checks in the mail" response was a pack of lies.
Are they even still in business? They didn't even answer their phone for the past 2 weeks."
"Ordered a refurbished Dell laptop from them. They shipped it quickly and it arrived well packed.
Here's where my experience differed ...
Nothing special about the condition; it looked quite used but worked and the HDD was wiped. However the screen flickered. They also failed to ship the extra battery I had ordered.
I got their RMA form and I returned it.

Revised review. They returned it no problem, no hassle. Full refund.
I subsequently ordered a Dell D630 for $220 including brand new (quality) Dell laptop case and new battery.
I'm super stoked with this new one. It looks brand new and works like a charm! For under $250 after shipping / tax I have a laptop that rivals my $3K IBM from 4 years ago once I add a bit of memory (for $40, no biggie).
I like Windows XP."
