"The company asked for the payment to renew my expired domain, which I paid by paypal. They accepted the payment and then informed me a few days later that since the domain was expired, they will not activate it until I pay an additional $150.
I felt that this was outright cheating! They never mentioned the $150 activation fee when they asked me to renew the domain!
It did not feel that it was a clean business transaction. "

We really appreciate your business and understand your frustration in this matter. Unfortunately, domains not renewed before their expiration are subject to a Restoration Fee of $150. Restoration fees are standard across the industry. To be perfectly transparent, we charge less than many providers and more than some. We send multiple emails warning that you have domains expiring soon and warn that fees may be applicable if you let them expire. We always appreciate the feedback in the hope that we can improve our system like finding a better way to communicate the restoration fee and educate our customer on prevention methods like enabling auto-renew in your account.

"When 101domain changed servers, somehow my website was corrupted going to the WordPress software. to get it back to a previous version, I was charged $50 to restore my website. They almost screwed that up and were going to charge me $60 after I was quoted 50.
I may have unknowingly caused the WordPress selection, but I wasn't warned that this would change my website or that I'd have to pay 101Domain the money to restore it.
They did get it restored quickly, but I'm not a happy camper. "
