"this company has aboslutely no idea what customer service is , nor do they want to do anything to fix their mistakes. here's the background. i ordered flowers for a girlfriend for valentines day and paid extra for guarenteed valentines day delivery. what ended up happening is they delivered the day before. so i called their worthless customer service and sat on hold for ever and to make a long story short they refused to do anything to fix the mistake they made. in the end the screwed up my valentines surprise and offered me no refund....or even to deliver the item on the day i paid extra for. they did offer to pick up the flowers and redeliver the exact same flowers on the proper day?!? that was what they considered fixing the problem. can you imagine having the flowers you recieved the day before valentines then being asked to give them back and have them redelivered the next day after they sat in the delivery truck all night and wilted. this company sucks period and my advice is use a local trusted florist. never ever trust these people. you may get lucky as i did last year when they did it right, but eventually they will screw it up badly and then they will do nothing to fix the problem."
"1-800-flowers is the worst business of its kind I have EVER dealt with. To start off I should mention that 1-800-flowers is just a service that thousands of independent floral business advertise and organize delivery through. There is no quality control for any of the affiliated florists that actually put floral arrangements together and handle delivery. In essence, a floral business simply pays a fee to have business routed to them by 1-800-flowers. I'll restate that 1-800-flowers does not care about who it sends it's orders to as long as the affiliated florists is giving them their cut. It all began a couple X-mas's ago when I was going to surprise my wife with a bouquet at her office. The bouquet I selected on the 1-800-flowers website was a collection of flowers arranged to look like a small X-mas tree. It looked very nice on the website and I was sure this was going to be a big hit with my wife. I also added a nice plush teddy bear to the order. This order totaled approximately $120. This order was to be delivered the next day. The following day at work I eagerly awaited a phone call from wife that eventually came at about 2PM. Upon answering the phone I could tell that she was upset and on the verge of tears. While I was a little confused by this I went ahead and asked if she was okay and if she liked the flowers I had sent. She responded that the delivery driver had berated her in front of all of her coworkers because he could not find the correct office building and he had initially went to the wrong one (which has is across the street and has a completely different address stamped on the front). What added to the scene created by this jerk was the fact that he apparently looked like a vagrant/indigent. What's more, is that the bouquet he delivered looked nothing like the one depicted on the website. In fact, this cheap piece of crap bared a closer resemblance to himself than the X-mas tree bouquet shown on the website [I would later learn that each individual florist makes their own interpretation of the flowers shown on the website]. Let me paint you a picture of this hideous creation. The hill-billy had cut the top of some evergreen tree off and stuck baby's breath and dandelions into it along with some cheap plastic (not even shiny) balls. This was not an arrangement of flowers shaped into an X-mas tree it was part of a freaking tree arranged into the cheapest and most grotesque floral design possible. The topper was that he even forgot the teddy bear I had ordered. After hearing this news I immediately called 1-800 flowers and demanded a full refund. Unfortunately, the first several times I called I waited on hold for 10-30 minutes at a time and was disconnected from the call or when I did reach a person and I explained the situation they would hang-up on me. Sometimes they would simply disconnect the call or they would pretend as if they were transferring me to someone who could really help and disconnect me during the transfer. It became quite clear that this was 1-800 flowers strategy to deal with problems. After spending a couple of hours going through this routine I finally spoke with a man who sounded sympathetic. He informed me that 1-800 flowers does not have the ability to return my money and that my dispute was with the local florist. He gave me the florist's phone number and basically told me how 1-800 flowers works [as I described above]. I called the local florist and asked for a refund. They said that they would need to pickup the bouquet before issuing any credit. I agreed so I then had to call my wife and have her leave the hideous eyesore with her building's security guard [I wasn't going to have a repeat of her first encounter with the delivery vagrant]. So they picked up the pathetic plant from the security guard and this would be the end of it - WRONG. They did pick up the bouquet but they told me that they would refund the price of the teddy bear ($25) but not the flowers. The florist stated that she believed that it did not have to look anything like the picture on the website and that it if we did not like the arrangement we should not use her again in the future. Pretty ridiculous argument sense there was no way in hell I was going to use her or 1-800 flowers again for the rest of my life regardless of the outcome."
"Ordered a bouquet arrangement of red roses - my wife received white roses instead, which wilted within 2 days. They boast a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I've emailed them 3 times since the order, and have received no response at all (used their customer help form). I'll never order from them again, and advise anyone considering to not order from them."
"i ordered a wedding bouquet for my daughter. it was 'guarenteed' next day delivery. it was nothing fancy, just some roses tied with a ribbon. i would have been so much better off just calling a local florist (which is what i utlimatly did). the kids are in the army, and had a short leave. their 'wedding' is planned for their real leave in january when they can come home, but anyone with ties to loved ones in battle knows how things can change, and how military families do everything in their power to create some degree of normalcy. not only were they not delivered, we were first told that they would be if we would accept red roses instead of cream (of course), then when i called to see if they could just pick them up, i was told that the florist had rejected the order over four hours before. they were 'going to contact me soon' to see what i wanted. what did i want? for them to fulfill their guarentee. "
"I've used them several times in the past with satisfactory results - but the real hallmark of any business is how to make things right when things go wrong. 1800Flowers let me down big time.
Customer service clearly suffers from cheap, outsourced Indian labor. Flowers ordered for Mother's Day arrived two days late. Their poorly written email responses to my repeated questions earnestly state, "Please be assured that the issue would be resolved to your complete satisfaction", which is a lie since they supposedly sent me a yet to be received 50% off voucher, not the full refund I asked for.
Better to deal with a reputable local florist."
"I ordered a dozen multi-color roses (Rose Lovers Bouquet) with a vase to be delivered on Valnties day. What I received was a dozen wilted yellow roses without a vase. When I complained twice by email over a week i received no response. When I called i was told i would only get a partial credit because my wife received something.
This should be illegal!!! Order anything and they can send whatever junk they have lying around and you have to pay whatever price they deem appropriate for something you didn't order.
Please warn everyone about doing business with this company!"
"Horrible. I ordered a month ahead of time for Valentine's Day in order to beat the rush. Delivery was Guaranteed. I chose delivery through a local florist so I know it will be delivered on time. Valentines Day comes. I get a delivery confirmation. My wife never gets the flowers. I call and they are not taking phone service calls. I wait online for 6 hours to chat with a service representative. They tell me, it was delivered… It most certainly wasn’t. I demand a refund. They say the best they can do is redeliver the next day. I refused and demanded a refund or I will report fraud to the credit card company.
They said they will call the local florist and get back to me the next day. They never did.
I called to follow up and wait time over the phone was 4 hours!
I amazes me that a company who is in the business of delivering for valentines day doesn’t think twice about the repercussions of not delivering on that day and how it screws over the customers that rely on on-time delivery. If they screw up an order as important as Valentine’s Day, they lose that customer for life. Not a great service strategy.
I went right to my credit card company to dispute the charge. I follow up at the end of the week and the 1800flowers service manager admits the 1800flowers did not relay my order to the local florist until the 15th! Are you kidding me?! I order a month a head of time and 1800flowers sits on it until the day after it was supposed to be delivered. This company won’t be around for long with service like that. Stay away from this company on important orders. They will embarrass you along with themselves.

"On 01/27, I ordered roses and a balloon to be delivered to my wife at work on Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day came and went and no roses were ever delivered. I attempted to call 1800flowers for 3 hours and the line was busy. I also attempted to contact them via their on-line customer service but I continuously got disconnected from their server. I have also sent three emails to them and they haven't responded to any of them.
Finally, at 11:45 on February 15th, the roses were delivered to my wife but there was no balloon. About an hour later I received a delivery confirmation email from 1800flowers stating that the flowers were delivered on 02/14.
I am very dissatisfied with this company and I would not recommend them to anyone."
"I placed an order and they never came. They then came up with various reasons why it didnt come such as "someone must have stolen it". Are you friggin kidding me, the building she lives in has a security in the lobby and front desk.
What was even more frustrating is that customer support hotline (1-***-***-****) doesnt even let you wait for a customer service rep. If nobody is there to help you, they play a recorded message saying "please call back later, thank you" and hang up. So much for que-ing
I finally got to a customer rep after calling their 1800flowers line and talk to a sales rep. I said please dont transfer me, just let me talk to a manager.
They did however compensate me that they are re-sending a new batch of flowers and giving me a 20% discount back to my credit card and a future 20% of my next order.
Sorry 1800flowers, but you've just lost a customer. I am filing a complaint with the BBB.
Getting in trouble with your girlfriend on valentines day is just not worth the 20% discount. But what happens after 20%, your flowers are jepoardized. You will never know if they send C grade flowers.
1800flowers is a prime example of a company that places profit infront of its customers.
They also claim a %100 satisfaction guarantee but dont mention anything more. If youre not satisfied, then what? 20 percent compensation when the actuall shipping cost is already 20% of my purchase! And we know that any company that cant deliver on the promised date will fully refund shipping.
If you cant fufil customer's needs, then just tell them. I would have been much happier to place my order somewhere else.
If you think that 1800flowers has better flowers than other online florists because they cost more, you may be right. The flowers you order will be so unique you can see right through them like thin air. IF youre lucky, they will turn into real flowers."
"I ordered tulips, chocolate and a balloon for Valentines Day on 02/10/06. Paid $14.98 extra to make sure that the delivery be made on 02/14/06. Valentines Day came and went and no delivery was made. Tried to call 1800flowers.com several times only to be put on hold for 20-30 minutes at a time. Tried to get status off the website and only got message that the order was placed on 02/10/06. On 02/15/06, I received an email stating that everything was delivered on 02/14/06 to my
girlfriend to her workplace. Neither she nor anyone at her workplace received anything of the sort nor was there any message left on her
voicemail that the delivery was to be delayed, to arrive, etc. The website was finally updated to show that the order was received by my girlfriend
on 02/14/06 but as I said no delivery was made. I tried to use their live online support but was put into a queue with more than 800 other people waiting and the number did not move for 30 minutes. I tried later in the day to use the live online support to find that it was disabled by 1800flowers.com. I tried to send several email about my inquiries only to receive canned reponses that a customer service representative will contact me shortly. So now I am out $97.37 and no tulips,
chocolate or balloon not to mention a ruined Valentines Day for my girlfriend."
"Well it looks like many others had the same experience I did. I ordered plenty of time in advance, and the flowers were never delivered. I could not get through over the phone and their online chat was a joke (I started in queue at 700 or so got down to 200 and it disconnects me, then jumps me back up too 800 in queue). I have sent them 4 emails now though their "customer service inquiry form" and have heard nothing in return. Today their tracking service works (it didn't work for me on Valentines day) my order's status is still "Being Processed". STAY AWAY!"
"Not only has 1800Flowers.com not deliver my wife her flowers for Valentines Day ( I paid the additional $15 to ensure this. ), They delivered the WRONG item on 02/15/06 along with a dead rose.... Nice touch to a wife that was without a gift on Valentines day..
I can not get in contact with anyone in the customer service department ( was on perma hold for almost 20 minutes on 02/15/06 with no answer. ), nor have I had a responce to my email from 02/14/06.
I have requested a full refund, but is appears that I will need to address this with my bank, as 1800Flowers.com doesnt really seem to care. "
"I ordered flowers for my wife for valentines day even did their flexible delivery as they suggested and paid all their fees and nothing was delivered. I called their customer service for 2 days had to wait over an hour each time and got no where. Finally today 2/15 they tell me my order was rejected by the florist, but they sure did take my money that same day. Horrible service will never use again, I will not refer anybody to them. This was my first and last time using 1800flowers. They suck!!!"
"Granted, this site will generally only attract feedback from those sufficiently dissatisfied/pleased to bother. Nevertheless, I am one such person, and I wanted to join those who'd voiced their discontent to say that, on no uncertain terms, 1-800 Flowers sucks 4ss.
I've enjoyed the same delights as the other posters here - ordered in advance (early the 13th), took the guarenteed valentines delivery so prolifically advertised on the web and in my inbox, paid substantial premiums for it and got no flowers and no means to communicate with the company. I don't have the time some have rightfully invested to hold for hours to let 800-flowers know how truly pathetic they are, but once the holiday 'fun' blows over, I'll be calling them to get my money back and let fly with a few artfully-placed jibes.
Stay away!"
"Ordered Valentines day flowers for my wife almost a week ahead of time. They NEVER got delivered. When I called customer service (on the 14th and 15th!) all I got was hung up on. When I called 1-800-flowers to complain they said there is nothing they can do and I have to call customer service again.."
