"Ok, I know you guys are all mad because you are having getting through to 1800flowers.com.

Let me explain my situation.

Tuesday morning, around 10am, I ordered a bouquet of 12 "romantic" long stem roses to give to my girlfriend on Valentine's Day. Before I ordered the flowers I remembered that I had received an email from your company about a deal for $10 off any order of $49.99 or above by entering the promotion code of "LOVE7". When I ordered the flowers and entered the code it did not take the money off, so after making sure I was entering all my data correctly I came to the conclusion that maybe it would take it off after I ordered the gift. After entering and paying for my flowers the price came to ~$65, which was $49.99 + ~$15 for shipping. There was no deduction from the promotion code that I entered. After realizing this I called 1800flowers.com's customer service lines (the first time out of many). The lady I talked to told me that my order number was not in the system yet and that she couldn't help me for another hour or so, and she proceeded to request me to call back in an hour and a half.
After an hour and a half had passed, I attempted to call back. The lady that I talked to seemed very flustered. She said "Um" very excessively and did not seem like she really wanted to help me with my situation. After being placed on hold for several minutes she came back with the reply that the deal was not offered from 1800flowers.com and that it was a Paypal.com offer. She told me I should contact Paypal.com if I wanted my $10 that should have been taken off when I entered the code. I thought about asking the lady on the phone why a PayPal coupon would have come in an email sent by 1800flowers.com but the lady did not sound like she was aware of what was going on around her.
I contacted Paypal.com, I got right through to the customer service representative who was eager to help. She told me that she would enter a request that would be later reviewed to see whether or not it was a Paypal.com offer or a 1800flowers.com offer. I later received an email from a member of the PayPal Community Support group and was told that the coupon was not offered by PayPal and that I needed to contact 1800flowers.com about getting my $10 back.
I went to work Wednesday, more importantly, Valentine's Day, and decided that I would not worry about my $10 refund until I got the flowers. If I was impressed by the flowers, then I wasn't going to press the issue any further. I got home around 6pm and my flowers were nowhere to be seen. However, I did notice that there was a package from UPS that they had left on the front doorstep for one of my other family members.
I went inside and checked the 1800flowers.com website; the package status said that it was shipped. So I retrieved my UPS tracking number and went to the UPS.com tracking service. The tracking service showed that "Billing information had been received" which means that 1800Flowers.com had printed a label but had yet to drop the flowers off to be shipped.
I immediately got on the phone with one of the representatives to inquire about the status of my flowers. Deep down inside I was still worried about what I was going to do about my flowers. The lady looked into what was happening with my order and then apologized to me because the flowers would not be delivered on the delivery date. I then asked her for some reimbursement for the flowers since they were promised to be delivered to me on Valentine's Day. She placed me on hold and then came back and offered me 20% back from my purchase. Awestruck and insulted, I proceeded to end the conversation with her.
Later that night I went to pick up my girlfriend for our (what I had imagined as being near perfect) date, I did not have any flowers to give her and could see that she was disappointed. I explained to her what had happened and she was not too mad at me. Instead she told me I should be insulted for the offer of 20% back for my purchase and continued to say that I should be refunded in full for the inconvenience.
Feb 15 came around and I constantly tried getting through to the 1800flowers.com customer service representatives. By dialing 1800 468 1141 and pressing 2, I would either get a busy signal or it would take me to a recording saying that the customer service workers were all busy and were unable to answer the phone. It directed me to go to the internet and leave my comments there, then continued to thank me and promptly hang up on me.

That is just a part of the email that I sent to them on feb 16, feb 21 I recieved a call from Julie Kaufman and had the wonderful opportunity to share with her my views and thoughts about the customer service at 1800flowers.com.

I want you all to realize that I was in the same boat as you were a few days ago. But I feel the need to say that after talking with Julie, there is atleast 1 person there that does care what we have to say.

Just be patient with them and they'll get around to you. Also remember that we are just a fraction of the people that had this problem.

"What a headach this company has caused me. I ordered flowers that had guranteed delivery on the 14th a day in advance. I did not receive any delivery confirmation emails the next day and the flowers were not delivered. So I sent one email asking what was going on...no response. I sent another email saying just cancel the order because who wants to get vday flowers after vday? no response. On Friday I sent a third email with no response and tried calling them and got disconnected. Later that afternoon I received a delivery confirmation email saying the flowers were delivered on the 14th when in fact, they were not and three automated email responses. On saturday I received an email from a person saying my request has been handled. After noticing my credit card had not been refunded, I sent another email asking for clarafication about what "request was handled" really meant and wanted to know when my credit card would be refunded. Once again I received an automated response. The next day I received an email from another person saying that someone would call me to answer my questions and no one did. All I wanted was an email saying when my credit card would be refunded. So I sent another email asking what the hell was going on, and I received another automated response with another email from a person saying someone would call me. I replied saying that was not necessary because all I Want is a confirmation that my credit card will be refunded, all these emails are a waste of time for a simple step. Now I havent heard anything from them. I will try calling them again tonight when I get back from campus, and we shall see what happens. This frusteration has really angered me and I cant believe a legit company would do such a thing. I plan on contacting the woman listed in a previous comment below, as well as the better business bureau and my credit card company to dispute the charge. Has anyone actually had their credit card refunded yet? and if so any tips for me on how to get that done now? Man what a terrible company."

"Deep breath. OK. I ordered two rose plants and one dozen long-stemmed roses to be ordered on Valentine's day. My rose plants made it late, somewhat frozen, and not in the colors I wanted them. Now, the dozen roses -- never made it! The order page showed them as picked up by UPS, but when I clicked on the tracking number... lo and behold, it said only 'billing information received' and nothing else. I emailed them, threatened to complain to FTC, called them.. -- nothing! When I tried to call customer service the next day, I was automatically disconnected due to 'high call volume'! I was able to reach someone today, finally. Fully one week after I made my order! Never got the flowers... Total crap of a customer service."

"I was ahead of the game this year. I ordered the flowers on January 26, 2007 and put down that I wanted them delivered on the 14th, for Valentine's Day.

Well, the 14th came and there was some nonsense with the tracking randomly stating that it was delayed. Fine, I figured they'd move on later that day. No such luck. The flowers arrived a day late @ 5pm frozen. When they had finally thawed out, they were of course depressing to look at[wilted and brown, instead of firm and red].

I emailed and am yet to receive a response. I called, but after waiting 15 minutes I said, FTN and gave up. $100 down the crapper!

"I ordered my gf a dozen roses from 1800flowers and as soon as I found out she hadn't received them on valentines day, I emailed their customer service. The next morning I get a ridiculous automated reply. So I try calling, I reach their wonderful automated phone system, their phone system that makes it impossible to reach a human being and hangs up on you. If you go to check your order number it just hangs up on you and if you try to speak to a CSR it tells you they are too busy and to try again later before hanging up on you... I called 50 times on the 15th only to be hung up on each time and have no chance to speak to a live human being. So I email again, only to receive yet another automated reply. On the 16th I try calling again for another 40-50 times, only to get the same response. So I email them again with a scathing email telling them to cancel my order and to promptly refund my credit card or I will dispute the charge, and that I will never use 1800flowers again. And of course I receive the lovely automated response shortly after that. It wasn't until the 20th that I actually receive an email from a REAL person, in which he apologies and acknowledges that they dropped the ball. He doesn't even so much as try and offer me a coupon to keep me as a customer.

As soon as I received that email I deleted my account with them and set up one with FTD.com, hopefully I'll have better luck with them...

"I ordered flowers on the 11th of February and asked for them to be delivered on the 14th. Well, its the 21st today. The present was supposed to be for valentines day and as a going away present. Well she moved without the flowers or the vase. Thanks 1800-flowers."

"I order flowers for V-day on 2-12. Opted for delivery on 2-13 or 2-14. I was out of town on a business trip, but each night I would speak with my girlfriend and was surprised that she didn't mention receiving flowers. Finally on Thursday I asked her about them and they had never been delivered. GF spent two days thinking I didn't care enough to send flowers. Contacted 1800Flowers on Friday 2-16 and after 39 minutes on hold, was told by agent that the computers were down so all she could do was take my number and a supervisor would call back. Sent email and got basically same message. Monday came and went with no response. Spoke with agent today, 2-20 after 27 minutes on hold and was given the same lame story. Too bad, too sad, we ill give you a 20% discount for ruining your day. I informed agent that in had in my hands an order acknowledgement signed by Julie L. Kaufman, Director of Customer Service, thanking me for my order and stating." At 1800-Flowers.com, your satisfaction is guaranteed.” I am sure that all of you received the same guarantee. I kept the agent on the line for another 20 minutes, repeating that I wasn't satisfied and since they had guaranteed my satisfaction, I wanted SASTIFICATION. She informed me I only had two choices, cancel my order or accept the 20% discount. I told her, those were not my only choices. I canceled my order, but told agent to note in my file "Game on." Here is the deal, if you have a phone that is free for a while, call their customer service at 1 ***-***-**** number and let them put you on hold for 30 minutes. It's their dime. Write to Julie L Kaufman, Director of Customer Service, 1 Old Country Road, Carle Place, NY 11514 and complain. Call their corporate office at 1 ***-***-**** and complain. This is actually the number of the 1800 Flowers in their corporate building, but they know who Julie is. I believe that Julie's email is jkaufman@1800flowers, send her emails. If anyone gets more detailed information on Julie’s contact information, post it with your complaint. I am willing to cosponsor an AdWord on Google and yahoo that pops up when someone searches for 1800flowers. The ad word will show a link to this, or other, legitimate complaint sites. No slander or threats, just real people with real complaints. Contact your local consumers advocate at a radio station or TV station and complain. My goal is to continue to do this until I get the SATISFATION that Julie L Kaufman at 1800-Flowers.com promised. "

"I agree with all of these reviews, and had the same problem last time with 1800FLOWERS with my item coming late. This year I decided to look around for a new company and came across TulipWorld.com . The site says they will get you Fresh Cut Flowers direct from Holland in 24 hours. I placed my order for my wife on Feb 12, and set the delivery date for Valentines day. To my suprise she got the flowers delivered at 9:00 in the morning that day! Couldn't have been more happy. For those of you looking for change, I would suggest giving TulipWorld.com a try."

"1800Flowers advertised guaranteed delivery for Valentine's Day, and 100% satisfaction guaranteed. Not the cheapest of options by any means, but worth the money if it means I'll get what I want and know that it will get there on time, right? Well, it would have if any of that was true.

When the flowers didn't show up on Valentine's day, I put in a call and customer support. Oddly enough, the phone systems were down. I put in an email support request, and then continued to call. When I did get someone on the phone, I was told that the phone system had been "having trouble today. It went down about 45 minutes ago." I'd have believed that had this not been 2 days later, with me calling 2-3 times a day the entire time. Right about the time I did finally get someone on the phone, the flowers showed up at my girlfriends office - 2 days late, dead, rotting, and stinking. The support person I spoke with informed me that they were behind, that the phones were still having issues, and that someone would need to call me back. I was less than optimistic, but didn't know about the dead flowers yet, so was still a few steps shy of furious at this point.

Miracle of miracles, though, I got a call. I was abruptly and coldly apologized to, and promised a full refund. I've yet to see that money in my account (holiday weekend, though there has been at least 1 or 2 full banking days in there since the promise was made), though they had no problem removing the money from my account within minutes of my order.

I wouldn't use this company again if the product was free.

UPDATE:

My refund showed up, so that part went well at least. Seemingly oblivious of the situation, I have received several requests for the company now asking that I fill out surveys (multiple choice opinions of potential new products, not the kind of survey I'd be interested in at this point) and been sent coupon codes as a thank you for using 1800 flowers "for this celebration and all your special occasions." Still couldn't pay me to give them another try.

"I made an order for Valentine's Day a week before. They never delivered. I got an automated email response and nothing else. I've had good experience with 1-800 flowers in the past but I've never used them in New York city. I'd recommend not using them in busy areas or around holidays.

I'll let anyone know if I get my money back.

"THIS COMPANY REDICULOUS!!! MY HUSBAND HAD TRIED TO SURPRISE ME WITH THE "DOUBLE TOUCH OF ELEGANCE" PACKAGE FOR VALENTINE'S DAY. GUARENTEED DELEVERY ON 2/14/07. THEY NEVER CAME AND IT RUINED MY SUPRISE. THE NEXT DAY AROUND 2PM I DECIDED TO CALL TO SEE WHERE THEY WERE. I THINK IT IS PRETTY SHITY THAT I HAD TO CALL TO SEE WHERE MY OWN FLOWERS WERE.
AFTER CALLING 1800 FLOWERS AND SPEAKING TO VERY RUDE EMPLOYEES NAMED AMBER, MARCUS,AND JUSTIN, I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! WE JUST WANT OUR FULL REFUND TO PUT THIS ANNOYANCE BEHIND US.
NEVER, EVER, EVER ORDER FROM THIS UNFRIENDLY, NOT RELIABLE, CRAPY COMPANY! I KNOW WE WON'T.
I AM CONTACING THE " BETTER BUISNESS BREAU ". REGARDING THIS SITUATION. I THINK EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD DO THE SAME.

"I've used 1800flowers a lot in the past, and never had a problem. They go through local florists, and they've always done a nice job.

Well, I don't know what kid of job they do now, or who they use, because my order never got delivered! It was supposed to be delivered on Valentine's Day, to the hospital my wife works at. That didn't happen, and I didn't get too upset, seeing as how we had a winter storm and all. But I called them on 2/15 to see what the deal was. They said they were in the truck being delivered that day. All I asked is for was a refund of my "special delivery" charge that was premium for the holiday, and that the order be delivered before 5pm.
Well, that didn't happen either. I DID get confirmation that the order was delivered sometime AFTER 5, but there's a reason I said deliver before 5! The hospital information desk said they get sent BACK with the florist, if the recipient is unavailable. I don't know if that happened or not. They are probably in some body else's kitchen now. But that's besides the point!

To top it off, I can't even get through to them. The 800# says all operators are busy, and disconnects the call, and e-mails go unanswered.

I wasn't too surprised to find that the consumers affairs website had a list of complaints a mile long about this place.

There's going to be one more complaint on there soon. And a few more e-mails to customer service with a link to that site, and this site. They can't guarantee delivery on a holiday, but I can guarantee that I will never use them again, and hopefully the THOUSANDS of people who read this site will take my advice and not use them either!

"There's is no way that I will ever order through 1800flowers again. After reading all of the reviews on this page I can see that I am not alone.

For one of the reviewers to put that they were Very Satisfied only leads me to believe that they are either an employee of 1800flowers or a lying sack of crap. See below.

Here is the long and the short. I ordered roses that came with an I Love You balloon, I also added on the velvet covered heart shaped box of chocolates. I paid extra for guaranteed delivery on the 14th. On the 14th I went to meet my girlfriend for lunch at her office in NYC and when we got back just the flowers were there and no balloon or heart shaped box of chocolates. Now the fun part, I just spent at least an hour a day for the last three days on hold being apologized to and being told that they would send a message to the florist to have them redeliver the rest of the order.

Psssst, guess what didn’t show up yet?

Ok, I know that I should be grateful that the flowers showed up.
BUT THAT’S NOT WHAT I ORDERED!

1800flowers refunded the money for the balloon, chocolate and the expedited delivery,
But what about the three hours of time that I lost waiting on hold? Well all I can say is if you’re not satisfied with your compensation. Keep calling them! Make them keep their staff working and paying overtime to deal with this situation.

OMG I wish that I came to this site first.

Follow up: Not waiting on hold any longer http://www.newyork.bbb.org

"My boyfriend ordered the lotsa love package with the 12 dozen long stem roses. They were delivered to Houston rotting and drupy. I called the next day when he gave me the confirmation number and they said that the flowers would be redelivered. Another girl in my office had the same problem with the same package and received her replacement package within hours of calling. I called back to customer service and they said that they would be delivered by 7pm. I never received the replacement flowers. On the 16th I called back to tell them that I never received the flowers and the lady said that the request was NEVER sent to the florist. She said that she could only request for them to be resent today. I told her that I work for a firm that closes early on Fridays and that 7pm deadline would not be acceptable with everything that has taken place. She said that they should deliver by 1:00 and they have not come. NEVER EVER do business with these people. They take your hard earned money and give you crap. You are better off using a local florist."
